DAVID E. ATKIN is the founder of the Atkin & Associates Center for Nonprofit Law, a law office that works exclusively for nonprofit organizations. Mr. Atkin has been deeply involved in the nonprofit sector for over 40 years, and his law office has been providing specialized legal services for nonprofit and tax exempt organizations for over 25 years. He has started, trained and gotten tax exempt status for more than a thousand nonprofit organizations. Mr. Atkin is a recognized expert on nonprofit law and is the founding chair of the Oregon State Bar’s Legal Section on Nonprofit Organizations Law. He regularly presents seminars and workshops on nonprofit law topics to a wide variety of audiences all around the country, including seminars for attorneys and CPAs who advise nonprofit organizations. Mr. Atkin also specializes in providing organizational assistance in areas such as Board development, strategic planning, organizational capacity building, organizational transitions, mergers, and conflict resolution.
