STEPHEN J. HORACE is a partner with Michael Best & Friedrich LLP’s Denver office. He has more than 30 years of experience advising and advocating for clients in intellectual property and litigation matters. Mr. Horace focuses his practice on generating successful results in trademark, unfair competition, patent, trade secret, and advertising disputes across the country. In addition, he manages national product clearance programs and U.S. and global trademark portfolios, and advises clients on a host of brand protection, competition, trademark, advertising, and promotion issues. Mr. Horace has established a successful record of protecting, managing, and defending his clients’ valuable IP assets worldwide. Before joining the firm, he was an intellectual property litigation partner of a national law firm for many years and spent more than ten years in-house as trial and IP counsel for May Department Stores Company, now merged with Macy’s. Mr. Horace is a member of International Trademark Association (Non Traditional Marks Committee), American Bar Association (Intellectual Property & Litigation sections) and Colorado Bar Association. He earned his A.B. and B.J. degrees from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and his J.D. degree from Washington University School of Law.
KENNETH P. KULA is a trial attorney with Buether Joe & Carpenter LLC. He has more than 20 years of experience representing individuals and companies in complex litigation involving intellectual property, such as patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets. Mr. Kula also practices in the areas of technology law and general litigation. He has represented clients, as plaintiff and defendant, and has tried both bench and jury trials in state or federal court in various courts throughout the United States. Mr. Kula has served as an adjunct professor at Washburn University School of Law, where he taught courses on patent law and intellectual property. He is active in the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and teaching Building Trial Skills program at Southern Methodist University. Mr. Kula also served as an ethics investigator for his local bar association. He has been invited to speak by various organizations on a variety of topics, including intellectual property litigation, copyright law and the construction industry, ethics, and electronic discovery. Mr. Kula is admitted to practice law in Texas, Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska. He has been admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and before various federal district courts. Mr. Kula is, or has been, a member of the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO) and various state, city and other local bar associations. He earned his B.S. degree from St. John Fisher College and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Washburn University School of Law.
HUNTER E. WEBB is a partner at Keohane & D’Alessandro, PLLC, where his practice is focused on various aspects of intellectual property, including trademark application preparation and prosecution. Mr. Webb attended law school at the University of Texas School of Law, where he interned with Texas Supreme Court Justice Raul Gonzales. He is licensed to practice in front of the United States Patent and Trademark Office; in the states of Texas and Massachusetts; and in the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Eastern, and Western districts of Texas. Currently, Mr. Webb serves on the Board of the Eastern New York Intellectual Property Law Association (ENYIPLA).
