JARED J. MATTS, CPA, CGMA, is the tax director and shareholder with Atkinson & Co., Ltd. Mr. Matts provides clients with advice and services that add value to their lives and to their business activities. For more than 15 years his role as an advisor to individuals and businesses had been guided by a desire to lift from their shoulders the sometimes overwhelming burden that accounting, tax, and general business compliance can add. He focuses on helping clients better understand the reporting and regulatory issues that individuals and businesses face. Mr. Matts has management experience in retail and wholesale operations, and has been the CFO of a family automotive dealership group. He has experience as a small business owner giving him an understanding of what many business owners, CFOs, controllers, and others in a leadership position deal with on a daily basis. He speaks to small and large groups, and in the past has served as a professional faculty professor at the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management where he taught an undergraduate course in business taxation. Mr. Matts is a member of the New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He received his A.A.S. degree from Walters State Community College in Eastern Tennessee and his B.A. degree from the University of New Mexico.
