BETTINA S. BROWN is of counsel with Weissman, in the firm's residential closing practice. Her experience includes work with foreclosures, landlord/tenant issues, seller representation in relocation transactions, title insurance and claims, as well as traditional real estate closings. In addition to serving the Peachtree City area, Ms. Brown is the preferred closing attorney for the Serenbe Development in Chattahoochee Hills and Red Door Realty Group in College Park. She received her B.A. degree from the University of Florida and her J.D. degree from Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Fayette County Board of REALTORS®, the Newnan-Coweta Board of REALTORS® and the Fayette County Chapter of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®. She is admitted to practice in Florida and Georgia.
JAMES F. BROWN JR. is an attorney with the law firm of Fine and Block Attorneys. He has practiced in and around Atlanta since 1986, primarily in the areas of residential and commercial real estate title examination, title insurance underwriting, escrow and closing services, secured lending, and business and corporate law. Mr. Brown is currently surviving as an adjunct professor at Emory Law School regarding contract drafting. Mr. Brown was a founding notes editor of the Emory International Law Review, where he reviewed and wrote practice commentaries for chapters on title examination, real estate sales contracts and deeds for the property module of Georgia Jurisprudence, published by Lawyers Cooperative Publishing. He earned his A.B. degree from Davidson College, his J.D. degree from Emory University, his LL.M. degree in international and comparative law from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and his M.Tx. degree from Georgia State University. Mr. Brown is a member of the State Bar of Georgia (Real Property Law Section).
KIM M. JACKSON is a trial attorney and partner with the law firm of Bovis, Kyle, Burch & Medlin, LLC, in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Jackson primarily handles claims involving professional liability, including claims against lawyers, professional licensing, insurance coverage and bad faith, and premises liability. He is a frequent speaker and writes about attorney liability, legal ethics, insurance coverage/bad faith litigation, and civil litigation skills. Mr. Jackson graduated with his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, at Wabash College; and earned his J.D. degree at the University of Kentucky School of Law. He is licensed to practice in Georgia, Kentucky and Texas. Mr. Jackson is a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, ABA Lawyers' Professional Liability Consortium, Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, the Professional Liability Underwriting Society, and the Atlanta Lawyers Club. Mr. Jackson has been designated as a Super Lawyer every year since 2008, four times being named in the Top 100 Lawyers in Georgia.
