JOHN T. BANJAK is a principal and serves as general counsel of True Title Company, LLC, in St. Louis. He has extensive experience in all facets of the title insurance profession from a legal, title professional and consulting standpoint. Before opening his current company, Mr. Banjak served as president and general counsel for three reputable St. Louis title agencies and as regional underwriting counsel for a national title insurance underwriter. He also served as senior vice president and general counsel for Pulaski Bank. Prior to entering the title insurance field, Mr. Banjak worked as a private attorney and as an assistant attorney general for the state of Missouri. He is licensed to practice law in the state of Missouri, and is a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. Mr. Banjak lectures frequently on real estate and title-related matters for organizations such as National Business Institute, the Missouri Land Title Association and The Missouri Bar. He has previously taught real estate law as an associate instructor for the St. Louis Community College District. Mr. Banjak earned his B.S. degree from Indiana University and his J.D. degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
JOHN HEIN is a trial attorney with Hein Schneider & Bond P.C., practicing primarily in the area of commercial litigation with an emphasis on title insurance matters, commercial and residential real estate, brokerage fee disputes and construction-related matters. Mr. Hein regularly represents property owners, builders, contractors, lenders and national title insurance underwriters throughout the state of Missouri in both state and federal courts. He is a member of The Missouri Bar, American Bar Association and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. Mr. Hein earned his B.A. degree from Wittenberg University and his J.D. degree from Washington University School of Law.
SCOTT B. MUELLER is a partner in the law firm of Stinson Leonard Street LLP in the firm’s St. Louis office. Mr. Mueller began working in the real estate industry as a title agent law clerk and has focused on the real estate title industry since. He often represents homeowners, lenders, and title insurance companies with a wide spectrum of issues surrounding property ownership and real estate secured lending. He is licensed to practice in Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois; as well as before the U.S. District Court of Kansas, Eastern and Western districts of Missouri, and the Central and Southern districts of Illinois. Mr. Mueller is registered in the Cook County, Illinois bar and regularly represents clients from Wichita to Chicago. Mr. Mueller's article, "Is Equitable Subrogation Dead for Lenders and Insurers in Missouri" was published in the August 2010 edition of the Journal of The Missouri Bar. In January of 2013, Missouri Lawyers Media recognized his involvement in obtaining one of Missouri's largest defense verdicts of 2012. Mr. Mueller serves as vice chair for the ABA's Title Insurance Litigation Committee and is acting editor of its newsletter. He earned his B.A. degree, with honors, from Southern Illinois University and his J.D. degree from Saint Louis University School of Law.
