CARLA A. BARONE is a partner in the law firm of Cohen Forman Barone, LLP, where she leads the matrimonial practice. Ms. Barone's practice has been dedicated to family and matrimonial issues focusing on the complex issues of equitable distribution often involving valuation of complex assets, business income, and the division of assets for high-net worth families, as well as handling custody and child support matters. She is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association (Family Law Section), the New York City Women's Bar (Matrimonial Section) and the Nassau County Bar Association. Ms. Barone earned her J.D. degree from the City University of New York School of Law.
JOHN E. JOHANSEN, CPA, CFP is the owner of TaxFirst, Inc., a CPA firm in New York City. Mr. Johansen has been part of the tax, accounting and financial planning industry for over 25 years. Together with his team of professionals, he specializes in working with individuals and closely-held businesses in implementing tax minimization strategies, as well as saving his clients' time and money in the areas of bookkeeping and tax preparation. Mr. Johansen is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of CPAs. He has developed a niche specialization working with divorcing individuals and matrimonial attorneys in the areas of business valuation and forensic accounting. Mr. Johansen has achieved the very challenging AICPA's accredited in business valuation (ABV) designation. He obtained his B.B.A. degree in accounting from Iona College in 1983 and his M.B.A. degree in taxation and financial planning from Fordham University in 2000.
