ANN K. CHANDLER is a shareholder at von Briesen & Roper, s.c., where she heads the firm's real estate practice group. Her practice includes the representation of shopping center, office park and residential developers in the acquisition, financing, development and leasing of real property. Ms. Chandler also represents financial institutions in commercial real estate loan transactions and real estate brokers in issues relating to licensing regulations, including acting as co-counsel in a case before the Wisconsin Supreme Court which resulted in the enforcement of a broker's right to a commission when the listed property was transferred pursuant to a condemnation. She is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, as well as the Milwaukee and Waukesha County bar associations. Ms. Chandler has taught real estate transactions at the University of Wisconsin Law School, real estate law at the University of Central Florida and business transactions at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is a frequent speaker at continuing education seminars on the topics of commercial leasing, real estate development and real estate financing. Ms. Chandler attended the University of Florida and earned her J.D. degree from Marquette University Law School, where she was a member of the Marquette Law Review.
JOHN A. SIKORA is a shareholder in the Milwaukee firm of von Briesen & Roper, s.c., where his practice includes business law, real estate law, tax planning and tax controversies. He earned his B.B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School. Mr. Sikora has authored articles for a variety of publications, including the Journal of Taxation, the Journal of Real Estate Taxation, TAXES, the Tax Magazine and the Real Estate Law Journal. He is an adjunct professor of law at Marquette University Law School, where he has taught the corporate income tax course and the tax practice and procedure course. Mr. Sikora has served as the instructor for numerous continuing education programs, including courses offered by the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and private seminar firms and business groups. He has frequently been recognized as an outstanding discussion leader for WICPA seminars.
PETER WHITE is a shareholder in the Milwaukee law firm of von Briesen & Roper, s.c., where he focuses his practice on business law and tax law. He has experience representing business clients in a wide range of legal matters. Mr. White is a member of the firm's mergers and acquisition section and has experience representing buyers, sellers and lenders in transactions of various sizes and complexities. His experience includes transactions involving private equity and strategic purchasers and sellers. Mr. White is a certified public accountant and was previously a tax consultant at a Big 4 accounting firm. He uses that experience to provide clients with tax planning advice, including advising clients with international sales in establishing IC-DISCs. Mr. White received his B.B.A. degree from University of Wisconsin and earned his J.D. degree, cum laude, from University of Wisconsin School of Law.
