TED A. DONNER is a sole practitioner with Donner & Company Law Offices LLC, in Wheaton, Illinois, where he concentrates in litigation, corporate maintenance, insurance law, real estate, and employment law. He frequently lectures on his areas of practice and has written two treatises for Thomson Reuters (West) Publishing. Mr. Donner is an adjunct professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois; United States District Court, Eastern District of Wisconsin; United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit; United States District Court, Central District of Illinois; and the United States District Court, Central District of Indiana. Mr. Donner earned his B.A. degree from Roosevelt University and his J.D. degree from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
WILLIAM S. HACKNEY III is a partner in the financial services group at SmithAmundsen LLC, where he concentrates his practice on restructuring, insolvency and creditors' rights. He regularly represents debtors, lenders, secured creditors, unsecured creditors and creditors' committees, lessors, receivers and trustees, among others, in court supervised reorganizations, as well as out-of-court restructurings and the related litigation that accompanies the same. Mr. Hackney advises financial institutions and cannabis-related businesses on the interaction between state cannabis laws and federal banking and bankruptcy laws. He also serves as outside bankruptcy counsel to a number of business entities and provides general business counseling in distressed situations. Mr. Hackney is a frequent speaker and author and is a member of the Turnaround Management Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Commercial Finance Association and the National Creditors Bar Association. He is a member of the Illinois State and New York State bar associations, and is admitted to practice in numerous federal courts across the country.
MICHAEL McGRORY is a partner with SmithAmundsen LLC. Mr. McGrory focuses his practice in the areas of cannabis law, regulatory law, commercial litigation and aviation law. He has presented on cannabis law to many organizations, including the Chicago Bar Association, Chicago-Kent College of Law, the Association of Lloyds Brokers, the Chicago Healthcare Risk Management Society, the Marijuana Investor Summit, the Chicago Cannabis Conference, and others. Mr. McGrory’s articles have appeared in Marijuana Business Daily and Marijuana Investor News, and he has been quoted in articles on cannabis law in the Chicago Law Bulletin and the Chicago Tribune. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois Cannabis Bar Association, Defense Research Institute and director of Mental Health America Illinois. Mr. McGrory earned his B.A. degree from Eastern Illinois University and his J.D. degree from DePaul University College of Law.
BRUCE L. RICHMAN is a partner in the Chicago office of Mazars USA LLP. For over 30 years, Mr. Richman has been actively involved in business valuations, mergers and acquisitions, and other financial and tax consulting matters. He currently handles various corporate valuation projects and forensic/litigation assignments for U.S. clients both nationally and internationally. He works with both private equity sponsors and individual corporate owners. Mr. Richman has taken specialized training in business valuation and has earned his designation as a certified private equity professional. He is a certified public accountant; ABV-accredited in business valuations by the AICPA; a certified valuation analyst; certified in financial forensics, a certified fraud examiner, a certified divorce financial analyst, and a certified mediator. He is a candidate for the ASA designation with the American Society of Appraisers, specializing in business valuation. Mr. Richman is a member of The Forensic CPA Society. He received his B.S. degree from North Adams State College, his M.S. degree from The Ohio State University, his M.S. degree in taxation from Bentley College and his M.B.A. degree from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
RYAN J. VAUGHAN, CPA, is a director and Chicago office tax leader, and tax credits and incentives practice leader with Mazars USA LLP. Mr. Vaughan has over 10 years of diversified public accounting experience providing tax and consulting experience to emerging, mid-market, and large multi-national companies. He provides tax services to companies in a multitude of industries, including manufacturing and distribution, energy, technology, real estate, retail, financial services, and health care.
