MARK HAZELBAKER is an attorney with Kasieta Legal Group, LLC. He continues to emphasize representation of local governments, small businesses, and litigation. Mr. Hazelbaker began his career as legal counsel of the Wisconsin Counties Association. He served as personnel director/corporation counsel, and later as administrative coordinator for Manitowoc County. Mr. Hazelbaker has been in private practice since 1992, first with downtown Madison law firms, and then in his own firm since 1999. He has lectured many times on labor and employment law, land use law, and municipal law for various business and professional groups. Mr. Hazelbaker has also published law reviews and other articles. He is a member of the Dane County Bar Association and the State Bar of Wisconsin (Litigation and Labor and Employment, and Government Lawyers Division sections). Mr. Hazelbaker earned his B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin and his J.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
NIKOLAS HAZELBAKER is a real estate finance professional specializing in commercial real estate structured finance. Over the course of his career, Mr. Hazelbaker has personally overseen the origination, negotiation, and closing of more than $600 million in mortgage loans across all major property types. He has direct experience with fixed rate and floating rate loans of varying term lengths and deal structures for senior, bridge, mezzanine and construction loan transactions involving multi-use commercial, apartment, residential, and land development. Mr. Hazelbaker holds a B.A. degree in political science from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and an M.B.A. degree, with an emphasis in real estate and urban land economics, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He currently works in Chicago for MetLife Investment Management as a debt associate. He previously worked in the Chicago office of Pacific Life Real Estate Investments and CBRE’s Minneapolis office. As a child, Mr. Hazelbaker would often state that he would one day be his father’s senior partner, before ultimately taking his father’s advice and obtaining a real estate degree from UW-Madison.
KIMBERLY JACKSON is with The Robilee, Staffred & Emile Group located in Golden, Colorado. She has worked with both environmental organizations and oil and gas operators on issues of land use, regulatory compliance, ownership rights (surface, mineral, and royalty), conservation easements, air quality regulations, NEPA compliance, and public health and safety issues as they apply to populations impacted by mineral extraction. Ms. Jackson is a licensed nurse, earning her PN certification from the Community College of Denver, her B.A. degree from the University of Colorado, and both her J.D. and LL.M. degrees from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She is currently licensed in both New Mexico and North Dakota.
BRANDON G. O'BRYON is admitted to practice in Wisconsin, California, and before the U.S. Eastern District for Wisconsin. His firm, O'Bryon Law Firm, LLC, has focused on the transaction and litigation needs for real estate and business clients, as well as the needs of non-profit organizations. Mr. O'Bryon's firm provides specific advice on real property, sales, and income tax issues at the state and federal levels. He is a graduate of the Oak Brook College of Law and Government Policy, Fresno, California, where he has served on its Alumni Association Board. Mr. O'Bryon actively volunteers in assisting non-profits on a professional and personal basis.
