JOSEPH G. SOLIZ is a Texas native and Houston, Texas, based attorney with more than 41 years of continuous legal experience. He is an honors graduate of Texas State University - San Marcos and a graduate of Harvard Law School. Mr. Soliz is admitted to the State Bar of Texas; the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas; and the U.S. Court of Appeals, 5th Circuit. He is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in oil, gas, and mineral law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He currently teaches introduction to law, oil and gas law, and business law, as an adjunct professor at Lone Star College - North Harris and has previously taught oil and gas law at South Texas College of Law. In addition to working in private practice, Mr. Soliz has previously worked in-house in the corporate law departments of Gulf Oil Corporation and El Paso Corporation. Currently, he is the managing attorney for The Soliz Law Firm, P.L.L.C., which is based in Houston, and serves as a director of the Coastal Water Authority, a conservation and reclamation district created by the Texas Legislature. Mr. Soliz currently maintains a general business practice with an emphasis on oil and gas law, real estate and construction law, contracts, corporate law, and dispute resolution.
