DR. JAS G. BROOKS is a founding partner of Mazur & Brooks, A Professional Law Corporation. Dr. Brooks is a former physician and surgeon and is currently an attorney at law practicing in her area of expertise, medical malpractice. She is also an associate professor at Southern University and A&M College: Department of Biology Health & Sciences - Human Anatomy & Physiology and Department of Environmental Toxicology, Doctorate Program. Dr. Brooks is currently a member of Southern University and A&M College HBCU Coalition for Deepwater Horizon Response to the British Petroleum Initiative. Her primary practice area is in protecting the rights of injured individuals that have suffered professional medical malpractice, including wrongful death, amputations, birth injury, brain injury, burns, child death, dental malpractice, failure to diagnose, improper consent, nursing home injuries, paraplegia, prescription drug errors, and spinal cord injury. As a former trauma surgeon and current associate professor at Southern University, Dr. Brooks has an in-depth knowledge of handling medical malpractice claims from both perspectives, as an attorney and as an expert. She received her medical degree from Des Moines University, her Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and her Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center. Dr. Brooks is currently a member of the American Bar Association and a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association (Health Law Section). She has lectured nationally at a number of professional symposiums sponsored by the American College of Surgeons and Southern University.
ROBERT J. KASIETA is the founder of Kasieta Legal Group, LLC, in Madison, Wisconsin. He is a certified civil pretrial and trial specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocates. Mr. Kasieta practices in civil litigation, with an emphasis on plaintiff personal injury and employment cases, as well as commercial litigation. He has written and taught extensively in the areas of trial practice, personal injury law and insurance law, and is an instructor of trial practice at the University of Wisconsin Law School. Mr. Kasieta is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and all Wisconsin courts. He is a member of the Dane County Bar Association, State Bar of Wisconsin, and the American Association for Justice. Mr. Kasieta earned his B.S. degree, summa cum laude, from Northern Michigan University and his J.D. degree from Marquette Law School.
DANIEL TORRENS is of counsel with the Phoenix law firm of Righi Fitch Law Group, where he practices in the areas of personal injury litigation, alternative dispute resolution, and administrative law. Mr. Torrens lectures nationally in the areas of insurance, personal injury damages, and trial advocacy. He is a faculty member of the Arizona College of Trial Advocacy and a graduate of the State Bar of Arizona's CLE Institute. Mr. Torrens is a member of the State Bar of Arizona and the Colorado Bar Association. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and is a judge pro tem with the Maricopa County Superior Court. He earned his B.A. degree from Arizona State University and his J.D. degree from the University of Nebraska.
