ROBERT A. RILEY is an attorney at James & Wells, PSC, in La Grange, Kentucky, where his practice includes family law, civil litigation, personal injury, and criminal defense. One of his first cases he handled for the firm involved the division of pension assets and maintenance for a client who had lost initially in family court; he successfully litigated the issue in the court of appeals. Prior to joining James & Wells, PSC, he had a 22-year career with the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy, where he was extensively involved in training young attorneys. Mr. Riley has also been an adjunct professor and National Trial Advocacy Moot Court team coach for the University of Louisville Brandeis College of Law. Mr. Riley is a member and a past board member of the Kentucky Association Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is also a past president of the 12th Judicial Circuit Bar Association. Mr. Riley earned his B.A. from Western Kentucky University and his J.D. from University of Tennessee College of Law. He is also graduate of the National Criminal Defense College in Macon, Georgia.
JONATHAN O. WELLS is a founding partner with James & Wells, PSC, where he focuses his practice in family law, criminal law, and personal injury. He also teaches business law, criminal law, and criminal procedure at Kentucky Technical and Community colleges. Mr. Wells also served as a staff attorney at Franklin Circuit Court and law clerk at Todd & Walter. He is a member of the Kentucky Justice Association. Mr. Wells is a member of the Kentucky Academy of Criminal Defense Attorneys and a founding member of the American Association of Premier DUI Attorneys. He was recently selected as one of the three names submitted to the governor to fill the family court vacancy in for the 12th Judicial Circuit. Mr. Wells earned his B.A. degree from Eastern Kentucky University and his J.D. degree from University of Kentucky College of Law.
