MICHAEL R. MEY is a partner in the Scranton law firm of Mey & Sulla, LLP, where his areas of practice include personal injury, insurance and construction law. He frequently lectures to various professional and business groups on auto accident injuries, construction law and personal injury issues. Mr. Mey earned his B.A. degree from Wilkes University, and his J.D. degree from Capital University. He is a member of the Luzerne County and Pennsylvania bar associations, the American Association for Justice (member, Insurance Law Section), and the Pennsylvania Association for Justice (member, sections on Bad Faith and Civil Litigation).
DR. OWEN B. PICKUS owns The Law Offices of Owen Pickus, D.O., Esq. Attorneys at Law. Dr. Pickus focuses his law practice in the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury and product liability. He is a board-certified physician in internal medicine, hematology and oncology. He owned and operated his medical practice, Maine Centers for Healthcare, for nearly 40 years. Dr. Pickus earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Brooklyn College; his D.O. degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine; and his J.D. degree from the University of Maine. Dr. Pickus has won some of the largest malpractice verdicts in the history of the state of Maine, including a 9.7 million win in 2016. From the inception of his legal practice in 2008, Dr. Pickus has succeeded in obtaining verdicts, judgments and settlements in excess of over 50 million dollars. He is a guest lecturer at the University of Maine’s School of Law and is a professor of medicine at the University of New England’s College of Osteopathic Medicine since 1980.
