JEFFERY P. DRUMMOND is a partner in the law firm of Jackson Walker L.L.P. He represents hospitals, physicians, laboratories and other health care providers in transactional matters such as mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures and regulatory matters such as compliance with health care, pharmaceutical, and tax exemption laws and regulations. He is a frequent speaker on medical record privacy and security issues and HIPAA, and advises clients regarding compliance with those laws and regulations. Since 2002, Mr. Drummond has written a weblog on HIPAA matters entitled “HIPAABlog.” He is also a contributing editor to D Magazine’s web publication “D Healthcare Daily,” and was named a Best Lawyer in Dallas in the healthcare field in 2014 by D Magazine and a Best Lawyer in America in 2017. Mr. Drummond is a member of the Dallas Bar Association and past chairman of the Dallas Bar Association’s Health Law Section. He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the National Association of Bond Lawyers, and is listed in the Red Book as a bond counsel. He is an adjunct professor in the Center for Healthcare Leadership and Management in the Naveen Jindal School of Management at the University of Texas at Dallas, where he teaches graduate-level courses on health law. Mr. Drummond earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from the University of Dallas and his J.D. degree from the University of Texas.
