DAVEY JAY is shareholder at Meehle & Jay P.A., in Orlando, Florida. She is also a professional member of the Recording Academy/GRAMMYs and served as the 2017-2018 chair of The Florida Bar Entertainment, Arts, & Sports Law Section. Ms. Jay dedicates her practice to the areas of entertainment and intellectual property law and is licensed to practice law in Florida and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She has worked on deals with major enterprises such as HBO, Warner/Chappell, Discovery, Telemundo, Sony/Columbia, and Sub Pop, as well as with indies and startups, and has represented Oscar, Grammy, and Emmy winners along with those who are just launching their careers. Ms. Jay has been an educator for over twelve years, most recently as an adjunct professor at Barry University School of Law. In recognition of her professional achievements and community service, she has received a Legal Elite designation from Florida Trend, and was honored as one of Orlando Business Journal's Women Who Mean Business in 2019.
MARK V. JORDAN is an attorney with Bracepoint Law, P.S. Mr. Jordan is the former chair of a major Seattle law firm’s intellectual property practice group and is an expert on commercial and corporate law, intellectual property and international business transactions. He also maintains expertise in formation options for startups and established businesses (including limited liability companies), angel and venture capital investment, and organizational governance. In his career, Mr. Jordan has tried, arbitrated and mediated numerous commercial cases (both plaintiffs and defendants) and practices primarily before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. He co-wrote with Philip A. Talmadge the book Attorney Fees in Washington, published by Lodestar Publishing. He has been appointed a Rule 39.1 neutral by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington and serves as an arbitrator for King County Superior Court. Mr. Jordan earned his J.D. degree from Gonzaga University School of Law and his LL.M. (international and comparative law) degree from Notre Dame Law School. He served as advisory board president of Catholic Community Services - Legal Action Center, Pacific Northwest Blues in the Schools and provides pro bono services to several other nonprofit groups.
MATTHEW B. WENZLAU is the founder of the WSE Firm, PLLC located in Nashville, Tennessee and Scottsdale, Arizona. For over 20 years, he has worked in the music, film, entertainment, and privacy/data industries. His body of work includes securitization, funding, and distribution for multi-million dollar motion pictures, production counsel/producer for feature-length films and television shows, and general counsel for Grammy award winning music artists, film stars, influencers, and a diverse array of celebrities. From a business perspective, Mr. Wenzlau frequently handles multiple vendor, distributor, and supply-chain arrangements, which businesses can leverage into their daily operations. He represents clients in private disputes, arbitrations, and negotiations involving entertainment-related matters. His practice also includes legal and branding matters involving federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, including the USPTO, United States Copyright Office, and the SEC. Mr. Wenzlau is a long-time member of the Recording Academy, Gospel Music Association, and the Country Music Association. He earned his B.A. degree from Baylor University, his J.D. degree from Regent University School of Law, and his M.B.A. degree from Arizona State University. Mr. Wenzlau is a member of the Arizona Bar and the Tennessee Bar, and is admitted to practice before the Federal District Court of Arizona and the United States Tax Court.
