Gallbladder surgery (cholecystectomy) is one of the most commonly performed operations in the United States. Despite tremendous innovations in safety and technique, catastrophic complications still occur at a significant rate, and settlements exceeding $1M are common. Join Dr. Burton Bentley and trial attorney Tom Mortati for a detailed look at what happens when gallbladder surgery goes well - and the complications that arise when it doesn't. This 90-minute CLE covers anatomy, terminology, and principles of negligence that apply to all types of surgery while focusing on gallbladder surgery in particular. Mr. Mortati will emphasize trial strategy using his record-breaking $7.436 million gallbladder surgery verdict to illustrate key points. Dr. Bentley will then address specific elements of breach, causation, and harm as applied to gallbladder surgery, and share strategies and best practices for advancing and defending claims while avoiding costly mistakes. Time for questions will be allotted at the end of the live event. Register today!
