BRUCE E. BUCHANAN is the founding partner at Sebelist Buchanan Law PLLC, with offices in Nashville and Atlanta. Mr. Buchanan represents employers in all areas of labor and employment law, including the National Labor Relations Board, Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act and employment discrimination. He is admitted to practice in Florida, Arkansas and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Mr. Buchanan has served as senior trial specialist for the National Labor Relations Board. He has also served as adjunct professor at William H. Bowen UALR School of Law where he taught courses in labor law, employment law and professional sports law. Mr. Buchanan received his J.D. degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Law and his undergraduate degree in government, magna cum laude, from Florida State University.
ANTHONY BUCHER is an attorney at the Law Office of Bonar, Bucher & Rankin, PSC. Mr. Bucher primarily concentrates his practice in the area of employment litigation and he has successfully represented individuals asserting claims of sex discrimination, sexual harassment, age discrimination, disability discrimination, and retaliation. In addition to representing employees in discrimination, harassment and retaliation cases, he has experience negotiating severance agreements and litigating personal injury cases. He earned his B.B.A. degree from the University of Kentucky, his J.D. degree from Salmon P. Chase College of Law and his M. Ed. degree from Xavier University. Mr. Bucher is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and in the Eastern District of Kentucky. DOMINIC CAPANO is an attorney at the Law Office of Bonar, Bucher & Rankin, PSC. He primarily concentrates his practice in the area of employment litigation. Mr. Capano earned his B.A. degree from Miami University and his J.D. degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. He is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the State of Ohio. Mr. Capano is a member of the Cincinnati, Kentucky, Ohio and Northern Kentucky bar associations.
MATTHEW T. LOCKABY is the founder and managing partner of Lockaby PLLC, a boutique firm that represents employees and employers in nearly every aspect of workplace law, as well as consumers and victims in class action litigation. In addition to prosecuting and defending discrimination, retaliation, and harassment claims, Mr. Lockaby provides day-to-day HR advice and counsel on a wide range of issues, including recruiting, hiring, disciplinary action, termination, and state and federal compliance. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Section of Litigation Labor & Employment Law Committee and Class Action and Derivative Suits Committee), the Kentucky Bar Association and the Fayette County Bar Association. Mr. Lockaby earned his B.A. degree from Centre College and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University.
JAMES MAXSON is the principal at Maxson Firm, PLLC, Kentucky’s only unemployment insurance-focused law firm. He helps Kentucky individuals and businesses succeed in their unemployment insurance hearings, gives employers an in-state option for outsourcing unemployment insurance and works with businesses to minimize unemployment insurance taxes. Having been in-house counsel for Kentucky's Unemployment Insurance program for nearly eight years, he has handled hundreds of unemployment insurance cases, from the administrative stage all the way to the Kentucky Supreme Court. He has seven published unemployment insurance cases, and his writings on unemployment insurance have been published by the Herald Leader and Lane Report. Mr. Maxson received a B.A. degree from Centre College and his J.D. degree from Chase College of Law.
BARRY S. SPURLOCK is a partner with Crump Spurlock, where he focuses his practice on employment law, representing employers with OSHA matters, as well as estate planning and business planning. He also teaches as a professor at Eastern Kentucky University in its graduate and undergraduate occupational safety and health programs. In addition to being an attorney, Mr. Spurlock has extensive experience working as a safety professional in manufacturing, insurance loss control and consulting, and is also a board certified safety professional. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and its Workers' Compensation Law Section. Mr. Spurlock earned his J.D. degree from Northern Kentucky University's Salmon P. Chase College of Law, and both a B.S. degree in Industrial Safety and Risk Management and M.S. degree in loss prevention administration from Eastern Kentucky University.
D. WES SULLENGER is an attorney with Sullenger Law Office, PLLC. Mr. Sullenger primarily performs employment law work, including wage and hour matters and matters involving discrimination, harassment, and whistleblower claims under both state and federal law. He maintains a full-service practice, however, also handling criminal law, family law, estate and other matters in Kentucky, Illinois, and Tennessee in addition to his employment law practice. Mr. Sullenger is a member of Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois State and American (labor and employment section) bar associations.
