is a partner in the law firm HKB Law, P.A., located in the northeastern Twin Cities. Recently, he has moved that practice into North Star Law Group in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he heads the Municipal Law group. Mr. Knaak has represented cities and other local units of government for more than 43 years. His practice includes real estate, zoning and land use, municipal law, public and election law, including substantial trial and appellate litigation experience in state and federal courts. For ten years, Mr. Knaak served in the Minnesota Senate, representing a suburban district northeast of St. Paul. He was the Minority Floor Leader, and served during his entire tenure on the Data Practices Subcommittee, where he was directly involved in the drafting and amending of the Minnesota Data Practices Act and the Open Meeting Law of that state.

is a partner with Lewis Wagner, LLP, where his practice includes alternative dispute resolution, business services and real estate. A substantial portion of Mr. Lewinski's practice is focused on real estate litigation, including landlord/tenant issues, foreclosure issues, eminent domain and real estate title issues. He earned his A.B. degree, summa cum laude, from Wabash College; and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Indiana University Maurer School of Law - Bloomington. Mr. Lewinski is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and the Indianapolis Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in Indiana, and before the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Indiana; U.S. District Court, Southern District of Indiana; and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit. Mr. Lewinski is also a lecturer at Butler University's Lacy School of business where he teaches 2 sections of business ethics and 2 sections of legal environment. He serves as pre law advisor for the University.

Daniel Griffith

is the managing attorney of Whiteford, Taylor & Preston LLP's Delaware office and co-head of the firm's Tort and Insurance Litigation Department. He specializes in the areas of commercial litigation and professional liability defense, with a concentration in the defense of municipal liability matters, particularly those involving alleged police misconduct. Mr. Griffith has defended police officers from approximately 15 Delaware municipalities, in claims ranging from 4th Amendment search and seizure issues to excessive force claims involving tasers and/or canines. He has significant trial experience in Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Mr. Griffith has tried cases in a wide variety of areas including copyright infringement, insurance coverage/bad faith, employment discrimination, municipal liability, civil rights and professional negligence. In addition to representing professionals (attorneys, insurance professionals, private and public employers, and police officers) in litigated matters, he has represented commercial and personal lines insurance carriers, multi-national corporations, municipal entities and state governments. Mr. Griffith is a frequent speaker and writer on issues related to civil trial practice, including evidence, federal pre-trial practice, expert issues, building civil trial skills and ethics. He wrote What the Civil Court Judges (in Delaware) Want You to Know, and moderated a judicial panel seminar of the same title. Mr. Griffith has written for and spoken at Delaware seminars titled "Advanced Police Liability Issues Under §1983," "Defending Claims Against Public Entities," "Police Liability Claims," and "Handling Claims Against the Local Government." He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Delaware state and federal courts, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Griffith earned his B.A. degree from Rutgers University and his J.D. degree from Rutgers University School of Law.
