DANA W. DUNCAN is the founder of Duncan Disability Law, South Carolina, located in Nekoosa, Wisconsin. He has represented thousands of disabled clients throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota in Social Security law, and Wisconsin workers' compensation. In addition to a high volume administrative practice in Social Security, Mr. Duncan has averaged over a hundred federal Social Security appeals over the past five years. He was a speaker at the National Organization of Social Security Claimant’s Representatives (NOSSCR) convention in San Antonio, Texas, speaking as an expert in his field; and in Seattle, Washington. Mr. Duncan continues to lecture on the law and consult with other lawyers on these issues. He was a speaker at the National Association of Disability Representatives (NADR) convention in Reno, Nevada. He is a member of NOSSCR, NADR, the Seventh Circuit Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association, where he recently has assumed duties as the newsletter editor of the Social Security division. Mr. Duncan has presented several programs previously for National Business Institute on Social Security law. Mr. Duncan is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and Illinois; and before the Federal District Court (Eastern and Western districts of Wisconsin); the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, Fourth Circuit, Sixth Circuit, Seventh Circuit, Eighth Circuit, and Ninth Circuit; as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans’ Affairs. He has more than 25 years of experience in Social Security law and has personally argued more than 25 cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, Chicago, Illinois; and before the Fourth Circuit, Richmond, Virginia, including some landmark Social Security cases such as Overman v. Astrue, Shauger v. Astrue, and Varga v. Colvin. He earned his B.A. degree from Beloit College and his J.D. degree from Marquette University.
MEREDITH E. MARCUS is a senior attorney with Daley Disability Law, P.C., where she currently focuses on Social Security disability and school law. She received her undergraduate degree from Connecticut College and her J.D. degree from John Marshall Law School, graduating cum laude. Ms. Marcus is currently the chair of the Social Security Committee for the Chicago Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in Illinois, the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Sixth and Seventh circuits, Northern and Central District of Illinois, Northern and Southern districts of Indiana, Eastern and Western districts of Wisconsin, Eastern and Western districts of Michigan, as well as U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
DENNIS F. O'BRIEN is a sole proprietor at the law office of Dennis F. O'Brien, P.A., where his full-time civil litigation practice focuses on serious personal injury; product liability, including drug and medical devices; medical malpractice; nursing home negligence; appellate work; and general civil litigation. Mr. O'Brien is a member of the Maryland State, Harford County, Baltimore County, and Baltimore City bar associations; the American Association for Justice; and is admitted to the U.S. District Court, District of Maryland; U.S. Court of Appeals (Fourth Cir.); and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. O’Brien is the co-author and author of a variety of articles and is currently working on a book, Accident Reconstruction for Lawyers, to be nationally published by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA). He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County; and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the Baltimore School of Law.
