KARLEE S. BOLANOS is an attorney and member in the Harris Beach, PLLC, Rochester, New York office. Ms. Bolanos focuses on counseling and representing employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including federal and state labor laws, Affordable Care Act compliance, federal and state discrimination laws, the National Labor Relations Act, the New York State Labor and Civil Service Laws, wage and hour laws, the Fair Credit Reporting Act and other privacy laws, the Americans With Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and constitutional issues. She has extensive experience with New York public sector employment law issues, civil service issues, and public sector contract negotiations. She handles employment litigation matters, representing clients before various courts and agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Human Rights Division. She has worked with companies to secure foreign national employee work authorization; represented research scientists, scholars, physicians, and engineers in securing employment eligibility in the U.S.; represented companies in connection with labor certification; and focuses on assisting clients in complying with employment verification rules and I-9 auditing. Ms. Bolanos is an editorial team member of the NYMuniBlog, a blog created by Harris Beach as a public service to foster discussion of important issues facing New York state municipalities and local agencies. She earned her B.A. degree from State University of New York at Geneseo, followed by earning her J.D. degree, cum laude, from State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law.

AMY C. KENDALL is a senior attorney with Knauf Shaw LLP, where she focuses her practice on environmental, land use and real estate law, and civil litigation. She has more than 16 years of experience in federal and state environmental litigation, including administrative hearings. She is also regularly involved in permitting and other federal and state agency proceedings, regulatory compliance, review and commenting on environmental laws and regulations, and real estate matters, including the negotiation of utility easements for wind power. While Ms. Kendall is involved in all areas of environmental law, much of her law practice has focused on water-related issues, including permitting and compliance issues for facilities, and construction in wetlands. She has been heavily involved in prosecuting and defending civil litigation under the Clean Water Act. Ms. Kendall also handles matters involving title to and permitting for work on underwater lands, as well as riparian and littoral rights. She served as co-counsel for Dryden Resources Awareness Coalition in Norse Energy Corp. USA v. Town of Dryden, 108 A.D.3d 25, 964 N.Y.S.2d 714 (3d Dep't 2013), the first lawsuit in New York involving a town's right to zone out high-volume hydraulic fracturing in the Marcellus Shale. Ms. Kendall is the current chair of the Genesee Finger Lakes Chapter of the Air & Waste Management Association, and past chair of the Environmental Law Committee of the Monroe County Bar Association. She is also co-chair of the Coastal and Wetlands Resources Committee for the New York State Bar Association and teaches environmental law at Rochester Institute of Technology. Ms. Kendall earned her J.D. degree from the University at Buffalo Law School, and a M.S. degree in environmental health and safety management from Rochester Institute of Technology.

LINDA R. SHAW is a partner with Knauf Shaw LLP, where she concentrates her law practice in environmental, land use and municipal transactional law, and civil litigation and appeals. She represents developers, municipalities, property purchasers, and businesses in matters involving the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, brownfield or contaminated real estate, petroleum spills, zoning matters, environmental impact statements, green industrial, alternative energy, and general project development work. Ms. Shaw also advises clients on how to obtain permits and approvals for green industrial/alternative energy, commercial and residential development projects, and obtain associated land use and zoning decisions, and to prepare environmental review studies, to cut down on the up front time associated with construction projects on New York contaminated land, and brings cost recovery litigation where appropriate. She is recognized as perhaps the leading expert in the state on the Brownfield Cleanup Program, and continues to be active in a number of legislative and state policy advisory groups working to improve the program. Ms. Shaw earned her B.A. degree and M.A. degree from St. John's University, and her J.D. degree from St. John’s University School of Law.

JONATHAN R. TANTILLO is an attorney with Knauf Shaw LLP. He is a recent graduate from SUNY Buffalo Law School, where he graduated cum laude. Mr. Tantillo began working for Knauf Shaw in 2013, as a student clerk during the summer between his second and third years at UB Law. Mr. Tantillo assists the firm with legal research, as well as making court appearances and drafting memorandums, correspondence, briefs, and motions. Since joining the firm, Mr. Tantillo has worked on myriad environmental law issues such as petroleum spills, hydraulic fracturing, compliance with environmental impact review statutes like NEPA and SEQRA, and the application process for the New York State Brownfield Cleanup Program. Mr. Tantillo also has experience with other areas, such as land use, town law, the formation of corporate entities, estates, and historic preservation. He has worked on matters in both state and federal courts, at all levels of the appellate process, from trial, to the New York Court of Appeals. Mr. Tantillo passed the New York Bar Exam in July 2014, and was admitted to the New York Bar in January 2015. Prior to receiving his J.D. from UB Law, Mr. Tantillo received a B.A. degree in history from Ithaca College. While at UB Law, he served on the executive board of the Public Interest Law Journal, and has previously interned with the Rochester Regional Office of the New York State Attorney General, as well as the Monroe County Surrogate’s and Family Courts.
