Ms. Brennan provides legal advice in real estate matters, including acquisition and development issues and agreements, Â§1031 tax-deferred exchanges, disposition agreements, leases, construction contracts, zoning, permits, and other governmental processes. She earned her J.D. degree from Notre Dame Law School, where she was a member of Notre Dame Law Review. Ms. Brennan is admitted to practice in Washington, Nevada, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
JOHN COLLEN is a partner with SmithAmundsen LLC, where his practice areas include bankruptcy and creditors' rights and commercial litigation. He has more than 25 years of experience handling Chapter 11 reorganizations, out of court work-outs, creditors' rights litigation, and transactions involving troubled business entities. Mr. Collen handles these matters on behalf of debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, creditors' committees, shareholders, receivers, trustees, landlords, and asset buyers. His clients operate in a variety of industries, including real estate, retail, manufacturing, printing and graphics, airlines, toys, telecommunications, broadcast, health care, music, transportation, entertainment, floor covering and power generation. Mr. Collen serves as an adjunct professor of law in the Bankruptcy LLM Program at St. John's University Law School in New York, and is a member of the American College of Bankruptcy. He earned his A.B. degree, summa cum laude, from Dartmouth College and his J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
RONALD S. WEISS is a partner in the Kansas City law firm of Berman, DeLeve, Kuchan & Chapman, L.C. He practices in the areas of bankruptcy and commercial litigation. Mr. Weiss wrote the chapter on general executions in The Missouri Bar Handbook and Attachments on Debtor/Creditors' Rights, and the chapter on bankruptcy in The Missouri Bar Practical Skills Handbook. He also is a contributing writer to The Missouri Bar Bankruptcy Practice Handbook. Mr. Weiss has been a lecturer for The Missouri Bar seminars and for the National Association of Credit Management in the Kansas City Bar Young Lawyers Trial Practice Program. He has served as chair of the Midwestern Bankruptcy Institute.
