JOHN M. AARON is the owner of Aaron Law Firm, where he concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal defense, small business representation, and employment law. STEPHEN J. BAILEY is a recovering CPA and tax attorney who practices primarily elder law in in Birmingham after discovering his passion while he was the sole caretaker of his loveable and hopelessly demented father. F. GERALD BURNETT is a partner with Cabaniss, Johnston, Gardner, Dumas & O'Neal LLP, who practices in the areas of commercial real estate, timber transactions and tax law disputes. He has had substantial experience in the tax and entity structuring of LLCs and partnerships used primarily in real estate transactions. Mr. Burnett's work in the tax area has also included jury and non-jury trials in a number of states. He is the co-author of the treatise, Litigation of Federal Tax Controversies, originally published by Shepard's/McGraw Hill (1st edition). Mr. Burnett is the author of the Tax Management Portfolio entitled Timber Transactions (1st edition), and has served as a special tax advisor for Tax Management, Inc. He is listed in Best Lawyers in America® for corporate and tax law. Before entering private practice, Mr. Burnett was a trial attorney in the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice. He earned his B.B.A. degree from the University of Mississippi; his J.D. degree, with distinction, from the University of Mississippi School of Law; and his L.L.M. degree in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.
DREW JENKINS is a partner with Gatehouse Law handling the firm's real estate, title, business planning, and international related projects. He oversees a joint venture title company that operates in Alabama and Georgia. Mr. Jenkins handles both residential and commercial real estate transactions, including SBA7a and 1031 transactions, as well as represents a Chinese immigration agency regarding their investors' denials of EB and L category immigration visas. He serves as counsel to firms ranging from shipping and logistics, real estate, and technology companies. Mr. Jenkins earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Alabama and his J.D. degree from the University of Alabama School of Law.
M. SCOTT YEAGER is a sole practitioner with The Yeager Law Firm, P.C., where he focuses his practice in the areas of civil litigation, construction litigation, business formation, business litigation, landlord/tenant disputes, municipal law, estate planning, and probate. Mr. Yeager has more than eight years with in-house legal departments of large publicly traded corporations, with more than six years of government contracting experience with a major defense contractor. He also has experience negotiating contracts, including license agreements, non-disclosure agreements, statements of work, professional service agreements, and master agreements.
