DR. H. PETER BLUMENTHAL is an occupational physician with training in pharmacology and toxicology and clinical experience in trauma, working at IMX Medical Management Services, Inc. Dr. Blumenthal learned to understand illnesses caused by toxic exposure during fellowship training in clinical pharmacology and toxicology. He learned injury management during 12,000 hours as an emergency physician. Therefore, Dr. Blumenthal is versed in both prevention and care of work related injuries and illnesses. Since 1993, he has conducted over 36,000 independent medical exams, including long term disability assessments. Dr. Blumenthal is a diplomate of the American Board of Preventive Medicine in Occupational Medicine, as well as a diplomate of the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (CIME). He is a certified medical review officer (MRO). Dr. Blumenthal earned his M.D. degree and a Dr. med. degree in Bonn, Germany; trained in clinical pharmacology at Tulane; in clinical pharmaco-kinetics at the State University of New York at Buffalo; and earned his M.P.H. (master of public health) degree at Rutgers. He has maintained an academic affiliation as clinical assistant professor of medicine at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Blumenthal has served locally as president of the Essex County Medical Society in 2003-2004 where he still chairs the Medical-Legal Liaison Committee, regionally as treasurer of the Medical Society of New Jersey, and nationally as speaker of the house of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine in 2004-2005.
DR. DAVID COOPER owns and operates The Knee Center, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and the Jefferson Orthopedic residency, where he worked closely with Dr. Phil Marone, the Philadelphia Phillies team orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Cooper assisted in the care and surgery of several professional ball players. He also was the house physician at Veterans Stadium for many years. Dr. Cooper is the attending orthopedic surgeon for the NASCAR races at Pocono International Raceway. He entered private practice as a general orthopedic surgeon in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. For four years, Dr. Cooper performed all types of orthopedic surgery, including neck and low back laminectomies and fusions, along with extensive open and closed fracture care. In 1980, he was recruited by Geisinger to open the orthopedic department at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital in Wilkes-Barre, where he was one of the first orthopedic surgeons in the valley to introduce knee replacements and arthroscopic surgery. In 1981, Dr. Cooper opened The Knee Center in Wilkes-Barre, to further specialize in the care and treatment of knee and lower extremity disorders. He has personally performed more than 6000 arthroscopic surgeries, ligament repairs and knee replacements. In terms of actually performing surgeries, as opposed to having interns and residents handle the cases, Dr. Cooper is one of the most experienced knee surgeons in the world, as well as being board-certified for life by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, the highest honor that any medical specialist practicing in the U.S. can obtain. As a sought after speaker by many national organizations, he has spoken at the national conferences of the American Bar Association and the Risk Insurance Management Society national meetings in New Orleans and Atlanta. Dr. Cooper is an adjunct professor at Binghamton University and Kings University. He is also a frequent guest lecturer at Binghamton University, Kings University and the University of Scranton.
ROBERT J. FOSTER is a partner in the law firm of Reger Rizzo & Darnall LLP, where he practices in the areas of litigation, including complex personal injury, employment disputes, insurance contract litigation, insurance defense liability, subrogation, general liability, estate, business, and appellate work. He is an adjunct professor at Temple University, where he has twice received the Adjunct Teaching Award for excellence in the classroom. Mr. Foster has been a frequent speaker and online moderator on advanced issues in legal technology, trial practices, bad faith litigation, and legal research and writing. Mr. Foster has also hosted and provided materials for judicial forums on litigation. He earned his B.A. degree, with distinction and honors, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University.
BRET R. GOLDSTEIN is a partner with the firm of Reger Rizzo & Darnall LLP, in the firm's Philadelphia office. He is chair of the firm's employment practices group, concentrating in the representation of management in workers' compensation, employment, and labor matters. Mr. Goldstein regularly counsels clients on a broad range of employment-related issues. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (member, Workers' Compensation Section). Mr. Goldstein earned his B.A. degree from Lafayette College and his J.D. degree from Rutgers University at Camden.
MARVIN S. HABER is a co-founder of the law offices of Haber DiPaul LLC. Mr. Haber has more than 30 years of civil, commercial and personal injury (litigation) experience. He is a member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey State bar associations and serves as the firm's New Jersey resident partner. He serves as a certified federal and state arbitrator (Pennsylvania) and maintains memberships in several state bar and local trial lawyer associations in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Mr. Haber has recently been appointed to the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Judicial Investigation Committee - organized to vet appellate judges and justices in order to maintain integrity of the Pennsylvania Appellate Court System. He earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, his Master’s degree in urban affairs at Boston University, and his J.D. degree at Temple University's James E. Beasley School of Law.
MARK S. KARDOS is the principal in the Law Offices of Kardos & Goch, where he has litigated personal injury cases in Philadelphia for more than 42 years with several verdicts published in the Pennsylvania Jury Reporter and The Verdict (publication of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association). Mr. Kardos was an adjunct professor of business and real estate law at Temple University for 12 years and had a similar position at Bucks County Community College for three years. Mr. Kardos also serves as a judge pro tem for the Philadelphia Common Pleas Court. Mr. Kardos earned his B.S. degree from Millersville University and his J.D. degree from the University of Baltimore Law School.
