ROBERT JEFFREY is principal of Jeffrey & Company, a full-service accounting firm in Wayne, New Jersey, where he has extensive experience in both public accounting and private industry. Upon graduation from college, Mr. Jeffrey went to work for Deloitte Touche and spent six years auditing large and small publicly owned companies. After six years, he joined one of his clients, a Fortune 200 Company that manufactured pulp, paper and packaging material (corrugated containers and paper and plastic bags), and building materials, and rose to the position of corporate controller of that company. After 15 years with the paper company, Mr. Jeffrey set off on his own, syndicating real estate tax shelters. When changes in the tax law caused a severe depression in the real estate industry, he joined a medium sized national manufacturer as chief financial officer. Six years later, that company was sold and Mr. Jeffrey organized Jeffrey & Company, a public accounting firm that provides services to businesses and individuals, including corporate and personal income taxes, forensic accounting, and the auditing of small and medium sized businesses. He is licensed to practice in both New Jersey and New York state and holds memberships in many professional organizations. At one time, Mr. Jeffrey was a trustee of the New Jersey Society of CPA's; he was also president of the Passaic County Chapter of the Society of CPA'S, and he continues to be a member of the Board of Directors of that chapter. He also has extensive experience in teaching. Mr. Jeffrey was an adjunct professor of taxation for 15 years at William Paterson University, and he regularly lectures on taxes at seminars for other accountants.
