Presenter: Jessica S. Sanchez
JESSICA S. SANCHEZ is a partner with Udall Shumway, where she focuses her practice primarily in the area of education law, representing school districts and charter schools throughout the state. She has experience providing legal advice and representation on a broad range of matters including, but not limited to, enrollment, discipline, student rights, employment issues, procurement, and governing board liability issues. Ms. Sanchez has conducted many in-service training programs and presentations on a variety of topics such as special education, staff ethics, public records, student records, bullying, hazing, student discipline, and child abuse reporting guidelines. In addition to her time at Udall Shumway, she has also served as the general counsel for Tempe school districts. Ms. Sanchez is a member of the National School Boards Association, National Council of School Attorneys, Arizona School Board Association, and Arizona Council of School Attorneys. She serves as an officer and a member of the State Bar of Arizona Board of Governors and has previously served in a number of leadership roles in both the Los Abogados Hispanic Bar Association (2016 president, officer, and director) and in the Hispanic National Bar Association. She earned her B.A. degree from Northern Arizona University and her J.D. degree from Arizona State University.
