JAMES R. ANDREEN is a shareholder for the law firm for Erstad & Riemer PA, where he is a trial and appellate lawyer, mainly in the areas of employment and civil rights. He is a member of the Federal, Hennepin County and Minnesota State bar associations, as well as the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association. Mr. Andreen earned his B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the Hamline University School of Law.
KATE BISCHOFF is an attorney and SPHR-certified human resources professional with tHRive Law & Consulting. She advises executives and human resources professionals in a wide range of industries on employment law matters, from recruitment to termination and beyond. Ms. Bischoff has many strengths that include diagnosing and remedying areas of weakness in human resources practices and policies, ensuring compliance with U.S. laws and the regulations of other jurisdictions, training employees on a variety of organizational behavior and equal employment opportunity topics, creating functional policies and practices to meet organizational, as well as division-specific goals, handling investigations into employee grievances, and as part of union avoidance strategies. She is passionate about improving company culture and using technology (social media and big data) in the workplace. Ms. Bischoff also litigates employment cases, including discrimination, harassment, and contract matters. After several employment law trials, she speaks from experience when advising clients when administrative and court commence. Prior to joining tHRive Law & Consulting, Ms. Bischoff served as a human resources officer for the United States Department of State at the U.S. Embassy Lusaka, Zambia; and for the U.S. Consulate General Jerusalem. Most recently, she was special counsel at a major law firm in the Twin Cities. Ms. Bischoff is part of the Society of Human Resource Management, Human Resources Professionals of Minnesota, Twin Cities Human Resources Association, and Leading Edge HR Network. She earned her B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota and her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law.
ANN BARRY HANNEMAN is a shareholder at von Briesen & Roper, s.c., where she acts as legal counsel to management in labor and employment law matters, including representing employers in federal and state employment litigation. Ms. Hanneman has successfully tried federal court jury trials, and regularly represents employers in administrative matters, as well as federal and state court proceedings. In addition to litigation, her practice includes advising on employment discrimination, negotiating separation agreements, handling sexual harassment complaints, drafting employee handbooks and developing policies, and managing wage and hour matters and leave requests in compliance with state and federal law. Ms. Hanneman is a frequent author and speaker on employment law matters and provides management training for companies on such topics as employment discrimination, Family and Medical Leave Act compliance, discipline and discharge, drafting employee handbooks, ADA compliance, and updates on current cases, and legislation affecting employment law and human resources. She is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Wisconsin, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth and Seventh Circuits. Ms. Hanneman is a member of the Labor and Employment sections of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Wisconsin, and the Eastern District of Wisconsin Bar Association. She earned her B.S. degree, with integral honors, from LeMoyne College and her J.D. degree from Marquette University Law School.
