ANN BARRY HANNEMAN is a shareholder at von Briesen & Roper, s.c., where she acts as legal counsel to management in labor and employment law matters, including representing employers in federal and state employment litigation. Ms. Hanneman has successfully tried federal court jury trials, and regularly represents employers in administrative matters, as well as federal and state court proceedings. In addition to litigation, her practice includes advising on employment discrimination, negotiating separation agreements, handling sexual harassment complaints, drafting employee handbooks and developing policies, and managing wage and hour matters and leave requests in compliance with state and federal law. Ms. Hanneman is a frequent author and speaker on employment law matters and provides management training for companies on such topics as employment discrimination, Family and Medical Leave Act compliance, discipline and discharge, drafting employee handbooks, ADA compliance, updates on current cases, and legislation affecting employment law and human resources. She is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Wisconsin, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth and Seventh circuits. CLAIRE E. HARTLEY is an attorney at Buelow Vetter Buikema Olson & Vliet, LLC. She focuses her practice on representing school districts, municipalities and private employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, general school law, and litigation. Ms. Hartley regularly counsels clients and works with human resources staff on topics such as employee discipline, student discipline, public records/open meetings law compliance, employee and student handbooks, employee orientation and background check procedures, governing board and employer policies, labor negotiations, grievance arbitration, prohibited practice complaints, discrimination complaints, restrictive covenants, and dismissal/severance agreements. Mr. Waterman has successfully represented employers in various labor and employment disputes before state and federal agencies, including the Wisconsin Equal Rights Division, the Wisconsin Labor Standards Bureau, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the National Labor Relations Board.
