DAVID W. HOOD is a partner of the Hickory law office of Patrick, Harper & Dixon, LLP, where his main areas of practice are civil litigation, insurance defense, construction law and collections. Mr. Hood is past president of the 25th District Bar (Catawba, Caldwell and Burke counties), a past president and current member of the Catawba County Bar Association, past chair of the Catawba County Board of Elections, a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, and past president of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys. CARLA LITRENTA is one of the founding members of Litrenta Law, PLLC. She started her career as a prosecutor handling traffic, misdemeanors and felony cases. After serving as first chair in over 50 jury trials, she switched her focus to private criminal defense and family cases. Ms. Litrenta served as her local bar association's president and as the attorney coach for the local high school’s mock trial team. MICHAEL S. JEREMY A. STEPHENSON is a shareholder with Pope Aylward Sweeney and Stephenson, LLP in Charlotte, North Carolina, providing counseling and litigation services to management clients in employment and related corporate matters. He has successfully defended employers before administrative agencies around the country, and the state and federal courts in North Carolina, against claims of employment discrimination, wrongful termination, breach of contract, wage and hour violations, non-compete agreements, trade secrets, and related business litigation. Mr. Stephenson advises management on wide-ranging topics of employment law compliance, including the avoidance of employee claims, the review and drafting of employment contracts and policies, and development and presentation of employee training programs. He regularly publishes articles and is invited to speak on topics of employment law, litigation and trial tactics, insurance law and corporate risk management. Mr. Stephenson is a recent past president of the Charlotte Area Society of Human Resource Managers and is currently government affairs director for NCSHRM.
