KATHRYN BISSONNETTE is a partner in the Hartford office of Brown Paindiris & Scott, LLP where she represents of individuals who are facing the end of their marriage and are dealing with such divorce-related issues as the division of assets and debts, alimony, child support, child custody and visitation. Ms. Bissonnette also has experience mediating and litigating custody disputes for non-married parties, and has handled cases that involve the rights of grandparents and other third parties in custody cases. She is specially trained in both mediation and collaborative divorce and has served as special master in the Tolland Superior Court. Ms. Bissonnette is a board member for the Connecticut Council for Non-Adversarial Divorce and a member of the Collaborative Divorce Lawyers Association of Greater Hartford. She earned her B.S. degree with honors, summa cum laude from Sacred Heart University and her J.D. degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law. Ms. Bissonnette is a member of Connecticut Bar Association, Family Law Section; Connecticut Bar Association, Women in the Law Section; Connecticut Council for Non-Adversarial Divorce; and Collaborative Divorce Lawyers Association of Greater Hartford. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut.
CODY N. GUARNIERI is a partner in the Hartford office of Brown Paindiris & Scott, LLP. His litigation practice focuses on criminal defense, personal injury litigation and defending professional licenses. In his criminal defense practice, he works with adults and juveniles being investigated by law enforcement agencies or being prosecuted by the state of Connecticut or the United States of America. Mr. Guarnieri has handled matters in nearly every criminal courthouse in Connecticut and ranging in seriousness from lesser misdemeanors to serious felonies, including sexual assault, bank robbery and murder. He also counsels clients in dealing with administrative agencies for professional licensing issues, including with the Department of Developmental Services, Department of Consumer Protection, Department of Children and Families, Department of Health, and others. Mr. Guarnieri regularly works with investigatory and disciplinary staff at the many boards, commissions and agencies of the state of Connecticut. He is a presidential fellow emeritus of the Connecticut Bar Association and sits on the Executive Board of the Criminal Justice Section of the Bar Association. He is a member of the Connecticut Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (CCDLA); American Bar Association (ABA), Criminal Justice Section; the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL); the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA); the American Association for Justice (AAJ); and the Litigation Section, Membership and Medical Marijuana committees of the Connecticut Bar Association. Mr. Guarnieri earned his B.A. degree from Eastern Connecticut State University and his J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law.
