JEFFREY BERNSTEIN is a partner with the law firm of McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP, in the firm's bankruptcy/workout practice group. His practice concentration is in the area of bankruptcy, creditors' rights and bankruptcy litigation. Mr. Bernstein is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York, and before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey; the U.S. Supreme Court; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit; and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, Southern and Western districts of New York. He is a member of the New Jersey State (Creditor and Debtor Relations Section), New York State (Bankruptcy Law Committee/Business Law Section) and the American bar associations, as well as the American Bankruptcy Institute (Business Reorganization Committee, Unsecured Trade Creditors' Committee), and he has previously lectured on a variety of bankruptcy topics. Mr. Bernstein is a Master of the Bankruptcy American Inn of Court and has been chosen once again for inclusion in the 23rd edition of The Best Lawyers in America in the practice area of bankruptcy and creditor debtor rights/insolvency and reorganization. Mr. Bernstein serves on his firm's Diversity and Inclusion Committee, as well as the Pro Bono Committee. He served on the Supreme Court of New Jersey District VA (Essex County-Newark) Ethics Committee. He earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Yeshiva University; his M.B.A. degree, with distinction, from the New York Institute of Technology; and is a graduate of Benjamin N. Cardozo Law School, cum laude, where he served as notes and comments editor of the Cardozo Arts and Entertainment Law Journal.
JONATHAN S. GOODGOLD is a partner with Beinhaker Law Firm, LLC, a boutique business law firm based in Millburn, New Jersey. He merged his own practice into the Beinhaker Law Firm, LLC, as of January 1, 2016, after eight years of solo practice. Mr. Goodgold heads the firm’s collection law practice and handles commercial and consumer collection matters across a wide spectrum of industries. His practice is focused on collection law matters, and he is well-versed in all aspects of civil litigation. Mr. Goodgold is barred in New Jersey and New York, and assists clients with collection matters in both states. He earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Binghamton University and his J.D. degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
CHARLES A. GRUEN is the principal of the Law Offices of Charles A. Gruen, a general practice firm which he established in 1990. He is admitted to practice in all courts in the states of New Jersey and New York, including the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit; and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York; as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Mr. Gruen’s firm represents several national financing companies and equipment lessors, as well as banks in the New York-New Jersey area. His firm routinely handles collection, defense and foreclosure matters for these clients. Mr. Gruen also serves as a court-appointed Commercial and Lemon Law Arbitrator in Bergen County, and he is on the court’s roster of approved mediators for several counties. He served on the Bergen County District II-B Ethics Committee, by appointment of the Supreme Court of New Jersey, from 1995-1999; and was its chair from 1999-2000. Mr. Gruen has been a member of the Committee on Character, by appointment of the Supreme Court, since 2007. As a member of the Professionalism in the Law Committee of the Bergen County Bar Association, he recently spoke on the topic of lawyers’ relations with other lawyers, as part of a continuing legal education program on the topic of professionalism.
ANGELA MORISCO is an attorney at Becker & Poliakoff LLP, in the litigation practice group, where she focuses her practice on community association collections. She has extensive experience handling high volume commercial and consumer debt recovery litigation and has managed all aspects of litigation including, pleadings, discovery and motion practice. Ms. Morisco has also handled appellate cases and has represented brokerage firms and ERISA funds in collection proceedings. She served as an arbitrator for FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the largest independent regulation for all securities firms doing business in the United States. Ms. Morisco previously served as an adjunct professor for legal research and writing at Berkeley College in Woodland Park, New Jersey. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Southern District of New York. Ms. Morisco is a member of the New York Bar Association and the New Jersey Bar Association. She earned her B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Fordham University and her J.D. degree from Pace University School of Law.
