JOHN R. BENNETT III is of counsel to Deal Law Group, PLLC, where he practices in the areas of business planning, estate planning, and elder law, including Medicaid cases, VA benefits, and long-term care. Mr. Bennett served as an adjunct professor at Wake Forest University School of Law, where he taught the estate planning course. He also served as an adjunct professor at Wake Forest University School of Accountancy, where he taught estate and gift tax in the Graduate Accounting Program. Mr. Bennett has been a presenter and course planner for numerous bar association courses, including the review course for lawyers seeking to be designated as a specialist in estate planning and probate law. He has served on the North Carolina Bar Association Continuing Education Committee for the Estate Planning Section. Mr. Bennett attended the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, where he earned a Master of Business Administration degree, as well as the University of the South where he earned his undergraduate degree in economics. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. Shortly afterwards, he attended the Graduate Tax Program at the University of Florida School of Law where he earned his Masters of Laws in taxation.

GREGORY M. KATZMAN is an attorney at Shipman & Wright LLP. His practice areas include estate planning and administration, tax planning and defense, and business organization and management. He attended the University of Missouri at Columbia, graduating with a double major in journalism and political science. Mr. Katzman went to the University of Missouri at Kansas City for law school and stayed to obtain a Master of Laws (or LL.M.) degree in taxation. He serves on the board of the local Wilmington Rotary and also on the board of the New Hanover Bar.

SHARON H. LOWE is a partner at the law firm of Lowe & Williams, PLLC. She is a board-certified estate planning specialist. Ms. Lowe has 34 years of experience in estate planning, estate administration, and real estate. She is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and the Surry County Bar Association. Ms. Lowe earned her B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from Wake Forest University.

DAVID B. McLEAN is a sole practitioner with the firm of David B. McLean, PLLC, where his main areas of practice are estate planning, guardianship, estate administration, Medicaid planning and applications, and elder law. Mr. McLean has established trusts for guardianship estates and provided counsel to trustees; served as counsel for petitioners and as guardian ad litem in numerous incompetence matters; crafted agreements among parties to incompetence matters to avoid or limit litigation; and lectured at the North Carolina Bar Association's Estate Administration CLE seminar on guardianship at the Practice Before the Clerk CLE, sponsored by Wake Forest University in March 2005. He earned his M.Divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, his B.A. degree from Furman University, and his J.D. degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. Mr. McLean is a member of the Guilford County, North Carolina (member, Elder Law and Estate Planning sections) and American bar associations; and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA).

JAMES F. MORGAN is a member of Morgan, Herring, Morgan, Green & Rosenblutt, L.L.P. His areas of practice include personal injury, probate, wills, trials, zoning and governmental relations. Mr. Morgan is a member of the North Carolina Trial Lawyers Association and the North Carolina Counsel of Bar Presidents. His bar admissions include North Carolina and the U.S. District Court, Middle District of North Carolina. He earned his B.A. degree from Guilford College and his J.D. degree from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, in Birmingham, Alabama.
