PETER T. DIRKSEN is a vice president and senior trust officer for Fifth Third Bank. His responsibilities include the administration of trusts and the offering value added solutions to bank customers by coordinating the delivery of tax, estate planning, and financial consulting services to high-net-worth individuals and families. Mr. Dirksen works closely with clients and their outside advisors to provide specialized wealth management and fiduciary services. He is a member of The Florida Bar and State Bar of Georgia, and licensed to practice law in Tennessee. Mr. Dirksen earned his B.B.A. degree from the University of Georgia, his J.D. degree from Mercer University, and his LL.M. degree from the University of Florida.
MICHAEL S. GOODE is special counsel with Lewis Thomason in the Nashville office where he helps businesses and families with their tax, businesses and estate planning needs. Mr. Goode also has a focus on international law, helping individuals and companies with both their international corporate and estate planning, including helping to resolve reporting requirement issues. He received his J.D. degree from William and Mary Law School and his LL.M. degree in taxation from New York University School of Law. Mr. Goode has been a chair of the Estate Planning and Probate Section of the Tennessee Bar, as well as chair of the Tax Section of the Tennessee Bar. He has frequently lectured to state, regional, and national audiences on estate, tax and business matters.
DAVID E. HELLER is an attorney with the Nashville law firm of Martin, Heller, Potempa & Sheppard, PLLC, where he concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning and probate, including asset protection planning for high-net-worth individuals, business succession planning, charitable planning, and generation skipping planning. Mr. Heller focuses on a comprehensive wealth preservation program which allows the family to preserve its wealth from taxes, creditors and others outside the designated family unit. He advises clients on how to integrate business interests along with executive compensation packages into the family's overall wealth preservation strategy. Mr. Heller has written extensively on these and other topics and has presented his work at many seminars and CLE presentations. He serves on several boards and committees of nonprofit organizations in the Nashville area, and he is a member of the Tennessee and Nashville bar associations. Mr. Heller earned his B.S. degree from Carnegie-Mellon University, his J.D. degree from Widener University School of Law and his LL.M. degree in tax law from Georgetown University Law Center.
PAUL S. PARKER is a shareholder in the Nashville law firm of Dodson Parker Behm and Capparella PC, practicing in the areas of estate planning and probate, tax, small business, and corporation law. Mr. Parker has been practicing law for 30 years and has lectured for National Business Institute and other groups on matters related to choice of business entity, estate planning, and probate. He co-wrote West's probate forms for their Tennessee Practice Legal Forms Book. Mr. Parker is a past treasurer for the Nashville Bar Association, and a member of the Tennessee Bar Association (Tax Section) and American Bar Association (Tax Section). He earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Cornell College and his J.D. degree from Vanderbilt University.
FRANK J. STEINER practices in the areas of probate, probate litigation, wills and estates, employment law, corporate and business law. He has over 20-years experience in corporate management with Continental Airlines and Hughes Aircraft Company. In addition to his J.D. degree from South Texas College of Law, he has a Ph.D. degree from Indiana University and he is employed as an adjunct faculty for the Trevecca Nazarene University Graduate School in Nashville, Tennessee.
KARL D. WARDEN is a sole practitioner in Nashville, where he practices in the areas of elder law, estate planning, business law, business litigation and civil law. ROBERT M. BLY is the owner and principal of The Bly Law Firm, P.C., where he concentrates in the areas of estate, business, and asset protection planning at both the domestic and international levels. His practice serves a clientele throughout Tennessee and the Southeast. Mr. Bly is a frequent lecturer for National Business Institute and other groups on estate and asset protection planning matters. He also is a frequent writer on asset protection and estate planning issues and was a contributing author to the book Generations: Planning Your Legacy, published in 1999 by the Esperti Peterson Institute. Mr. Bly has served on the adjunct faculty at Valparaiso University and Indiana University, Kokomo Campus. He earned his B.S. degree from Ball State University and his J.D. degree from The University of Tennessee College of Law. Mr. Bly is a founding member and first chairman of the Mid South Estate Planning Forum.
DUSTIN S. CROUSE is a sole practitioner with his firm, Knoxville Elder Law, in Knoxville, Tennessee. He focuses on educating and aiding clients in the areas of elder law, wills, trusts, conservatorships, and estate administration. Mr. Crouse currently serves as the chair of the KBA Barristers Professional Outreach Committee; member of the Tennessee Bar Association Elder Law and Estate Planning sections; member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys; member of the Executive Leadership Team with the March of Dimes - Knoxville; and the Advisory Board of Girls, Inc. of Knoxville. ANDREW S. CUNNYNGHAM is an attorney and special counsel with Wooden Law Firm. Mr. Cunnyngham has extensive experience in representing clients before governmental agencies and a lengthy record of achieving results for clients with land use issues. Mr. Cunnyngham has extensive experience in the area of constitutional criminal law with favorable outcomes for clients.
