STUART A. BEST is the managing partner of the Michigan litigation & defense, and real estate divisions of Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA, which is the largest collections firm in the United States, ranked by dollars collected. He and his associates litigate consumer and commercial finance defense litigation, commercial banking, business, and real property matters in both federal and state courts. Mr. Best is part of the integrated real estate default group, and handles complex legal foreclosure and title issues, as well as state law foreclosure compliance. He has a wealth of federal and state court experience and has handled many cases involving the appointment and representation of receivers, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, real estate, real estate title issues, landlord-tenant, Collection Practices Act defense, Michigan Lemon Law defense, insurance subrogation, and recoupment. Mr. Best has presented on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) legislation and requirements, and Michigan foreclosure and collection law. AMY C. CLUM HOLBROOK is a partner with Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., LPA. Ms. Clum Holbrook is the Cleveland office's managing attorney and she focuses on collateral recovery and secured transactions. She earned her B.A. degree, with honors, in sociology and management from Ohio Northern University and her J.D. degree from the University of Akron School of Law. A member of the Ohio State and Cleveland Metropolitan bar associations (CMBA), she is licensed in Ohio and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court (Northern District of Ohio). Ms. Clum Holbrook sits on the board at Frontline Service, a community mental health organization; and was selected for inclusion in 2017 and 2018 in the Ohio Super Lawyers list. She was also a law clerk for the Honorable Randolph Baxter of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court (Northern District of Ohio). Ms. Clum Holbrook is a graduate of the 2011 YWCA Women's Leadership Bootcamp.
MARK D. KIMBALL is the founding shareholder of MDK Law, a firm emphasizing corporate, commercial, and property law and consulting in matters involving federal and international taxation. Mr. Kimball is admitted to practice in Washington, New York and Texas. He is an adjunct professor of law at Eotvos Lorand and Masaryk universities in Europe and has served as a law school guest lecturer at Seattle University School of Law. Mr. Kimball has presented at conferences and continuing education events of the Escrow Association of Washington, the Washington State Bar Association, and at legal and political science academic conferences in the United States, Latin America and Europe.
