FRANKLIN ABA-ONU is an attorney with Bassford Remele. Prior to joining the firm Mr. Aba-Onu practiced in the areas of insurance defense, subrogation, and appellate law. He also served as an assistant attorney general in both the public safety and human services divisions, where he gained extensive knowledge on constitutional and administrative law, practicing on issues regarding the Minnesota implied consent law, mental health, licensing, and health and child care matters, as well as consumer fraud issues. Mr. Aba-Onu now practices in all areas of civil litigation, with a focus in general liability, products liability, professional liability and employment law. He graduated cum laude from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, where he participated in the Jessup International Moot Court, receiving a top oralist and best brief award. Mr. Aba-Onu earned his B.A. degree from DePauw University. He is currently an adjunct professor with William Mitchell College of Law and is a former adjunct professor at Hamline University.
SUSANNAH J. GALIANO is a sole proprietor from Minnetonka that represents employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including advice regarding discipline and discharge, counseling and documentation, and defense of employment discrimination charges. She also represents defendants in litigation involving sex, race, age and disability discrimination. Ms. Galiano also conducts workplace investigations of claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation and employee misconduct. She also conducts employer training on labor and employment law matters, including prevention of harassment, discrimination and wrongful termination. Ms. Galiano also has significant traditional labor law experience under the NLRA involving filing and defending unfair labor practice charges and trials, representing witnesses in NLRB investigations, appearing as second chair in union negotiations, union organizing campaigns, arbitrations and grievances, and collective bargaining agreements. She earned her B.A. degree from Wellesley College and her J.D. degree from Southwestern University School of Law.
MORGAN A. GODFREY is a shareholder with the Minneapolis law firm of O'Meara, Leer, Wagner & Kohl, P.A., with more than 24 years of experience, where he chairs the firm’s employment law section. Mr. Godfrey is licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court in these states, as well as the 7th and 8th Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Godfrey is a frequent lecturer and author on a variety of employment law topics, including areas such as background investigations, employee misclassification, investigating complaints of discrimination, ADA and FMLA updates, and retaliation claims. He has represented employers regarding charges lodged with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Minnesota Department of Human Rights, the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Equal Rights Division, and in civil litigation in state and federal courts.
CHAD A. STAUL is an attorney with Quinlivan & Hughes, P.A., and practices in the areas of employment and business law, including employment counseling, wage and hour compliance, independent contractor, workplace investigations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and others. Prior to joining Quinlivan & Hughes, P.A., his experience included work as a senior employment law attorney for a Midwest based labor and employment law firm with a regional practice. Mr. Staul also worked as the assistant city attorney for the city of St. Paul. He is a current member of the Stearns Benton Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Minnesota State Bar Association, and the Central Minnesota Society of Human Resource Management. He was a former planning commissioner for the city of Elk River, and a past volunteer with the Sherburne County Legal Advice Clinic. Mr. Staul was recognized as a Rising Star in 2015-2017 by Super Lawyers Magazine. He graduated from St. Cloud State University and earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from the Hamline University School of Law. While attending law school, Mr. Staul was a member of the Hamline Law Review and active with Mediation Moot Court.
