LORI M. BENCOE is a partner at Bencoe & LaCour Law P.C., in Albuquerque, where her practice is dedicated primarily to personal injury and medical malpractice. Ms. Bencoe is licensed and has been a practicing trial lawyer for 20 years. She has litigated and mediated hundreds of claims for people against insurance companies and healthcare corporations, involving complex medical and legal issues. With her comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas of nursing and healthcare, organizational development, education, staff development, administration and leadership, Ms. Clark is uniquely qualified to support a community of top attorneys, healthcare organizations, insurance corporations and physician medical groups regarding potential litigation as well as provide expert analysis and case meritorious review. The National Nurses Association has recognized her as a Top Nurse in New Mexico in 2019, and the National Association of Professional Women has recognized her as Professional Woman of the Year in 2015. DR. DAVID COOPER owns and operates The Knee Center in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and the Jefferson Orthopedic residency. Dr. Cooper entered private practice as a general orthopedic surgeon in Lansdale, Pennsylvania after serving our country for eight years as a U.S. Navy Reserve medical officer. For four years, Dr. Cooper performed all types of orthopedic surgery, including neck and low back laminectomies and fusions, along with extensive open and closed fracture care. In 1980, he was recruited by Geisinger to open the orthopedic department at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital in Wilkes-Barre, where he was one of the first orthopedic surgeons in the valley to introduce knee replacements and arthroscopic surgery. In 1981, Dr. Cooper opened The Knee Center in Wilkes-Barre to further specialize in the care and treatment of knee and lower extremity disorders. He has personally performed more than 6,000 arthroscopic surgeries, ligament repairs and knee replacements. In terms of actually performing surgeries, as opposed to having interns and residents handle the cases, Dr. Cooper is one of the most experienced knee surgeons in the world, as well as being board certified for life by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, the highest honor that any medical specialist practicing in the U.S. can obtain. As a sought after speaker by many national organizations, he has spoken at the national conferences of the American Bar Association, and the Risk Insurance Management Society national meetings in New Orleans and Atlanta. Dr. Cooper is an adjunct professor at Binghamton University and Kings University. He is also a frequent guest lecturer at Binghamton University, Kings University and the University of Scranton. Dr. Cooper has been a private pilot for over 30 years, and enjoys flying his turbine Bonanza to conferences and lectures.
JOSEPH M. FINE is the senior partner of The Fine Law Firm in Albuquerque, where his practice consists primarily of personal injury, wrongful death, police misconduct, products liability, malpractice law, arbitration, and mediation. Mr. Fine is certified in civil trial advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and is a fellow of the National College of Advocacy. He has been a seminar speaker for the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association, the Albuquerque Bar Association, and the State Bar of New Mexico. Mr. Fine was recently named in Albuquerque Magazine's list of Albuquerque Top Lawyers and is listed in Southwest Super Lawyers and the American Trial Lawyers Association's Top 100 Trial Lawyers. He earned his B.A. degree from Colby College and his J.D. degree from Syracuse University. Mr. Fine is admitted to practice in New York and New Mexico, where he is on the New Mexico Medical Review Committee. He also is a member of the Albuquerque Bar Association, the State Bar of New Mexico, the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, and the American Board of Trial Advocates.
DR. KEITH W. HARVIE is a doctor with New Mexico Independent Medical Evaluations, where he focuses on orthopedics, the spine, osteoporosis, and causation. Dr. Harvie is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery, and is certified in evaluation of disability and impairment ratings. Dr. Harvie also gives monthly seminars on various medical topics, as they pertain to the Sixth Edition, AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, as well as causation forensics. He earned his B.A. degree from Yeshiva University and his D.O. degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine.
