NOAH A. FRANK is an attorney with SmithAmundsen LLC, where he practices in labor and employment, including drafting employment agreements, contracts, and handbooks; assisting with union successor collective bargaining agreements; responses to unfair labor practices; and grievance administration through successful arbitration. He also provides practical advice for clients handling difficult employees and return-to-work situations following on-the-job injuries. Mr. Frank also handles complex matters related to representation of uninsured employers and non-compliance matters, as well as workers’ compensation and occupational disease defense. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association. Mr. Frank received his B.A. degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law.
CYNTHIA PIETRUCHA is the founder and managing attorney of Pietrucha Law Firm, LLC. She started the firm with workers' rights in mind, and she brings both passion and strong severance negotiation skills to the table. Her passion has earned her a reputation as a practical dispute resolution advocate. Ms. Pietrucha is a 2009 law school graduate of Northern Illinois University College of Law. Her first legal job was in 2006 with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in Chicago, Illinois. She went on to work at the Law Offices of Joel Weisman, P.C./Weisman Media in Northbrook, Illinois, where she assisted with employment contracts of over 100 television journalism and media clients.
DAVID POGRUND is a partner with Stone Pogrund & Korey LLC. Mr. Pogrund is an experienced litigator, specializing in representing corporations and other business entities in employment, construction, and commercial litigation. His work on behalf of companies in defending employment discrimination cases has included successful litigation and arbitration outcomes before the EEOC, IDHR, and in the Federal District Court. Mr. Pogrund teaches employment law for entrepreneurs and managers at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a member of the Illinois State and Federal bar associations, Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois, and has been admitted to the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Pogrund received his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Tulane University and earned his J.D. degree from Tulane University School of Law.
JEFFREY RISCH is a partner with SmithAmundsen LLC, practicing in labor and employment law. He is a member of SmithAmundsen’s Executive Committee and chair of the firm’s management-side labor and employment practice group. Mr. Risch oversees a team providing comprehensive counsel to employers across the country. In his practice, he handles matters involving countering various union tactics; responding to government audits; defending discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination claims; avoiding employee wage and hour controversies; complying with prevailing wage laws; litigating employment contract disputes and unfair competition controversies; upholding independent contractor and contingent workforce relationships; and negotiating collective bargaining agreements. He has many years of both private practice and in-house counsel experience. He represents employers throughout the U.S. Mr. Risch has been selected to The Best Lawyers in AmericaÂ© in Employment Law-Management, 2015-2019; and Illinois Super Lawyers list, 2013-2018. He is a member of Illinois State and Oklahoma bar associations, Kane County Bar Association, HR Illinois Advisory Board, and Valley Industrial Human Resource Association. EMILY WESSEL FARR is a partner with Farr & Farr, LLC, where she leads employment and litigation matters. Ms. Farr represents business owners in employment matters, contract disputes, collection matters, and a variety of other issues. She serves as a child representative for Chicago Volunteer Legal Services, a volunteer hotline attorney for CARPLS, and a writer for The Law Project. She also serves as legal developments editor of the Women's Bar Association of Illinois Newsletter and as a member of the Editorial Board of the ABA's Woman Advocate Newsletter. Ms. Farr graduated from Northwestern University and received her J.D. degree from the University of Michigan Law School.
