JOHN M. KIRK III is an attorney with H & D Title and Closing Services, LLC. Mr. Kirk earned his A.B. degree from Middlebury College, and his M.L.S. degree and J.D. degree from Vermont Law School. He is a frequent speaker on real estate and title insurance-related issues to audiences ranging from attorneys, real estate brokers and mortgage professionals. Mr. Kirk is the vice chairman of the Title Standards Subcommittee of the Real Estate and Title Section of the Maine State Bar Association.
SARAH A. MCDANIEL is a founding partner of Douglas McDaniel & Campo LLC, PA, and owner of Maine Land Law LLC, PA. Her practice has focused on all aspects of real property law, with a particular emphasis on conservation transactions, boundary disputes, and land use permitting. In addition to real estate conveyance and conservation transactions, she represents landowners across Maine in disputes involving title insurance, right-of-ways, easement issues, and zoning. Ms. McDaniel also works with families and farmers on estate planning and land and business succession plans. Prior to law school, she worked in the land conservation department at a state-wide land trust in Massachusetts. Ms. McDaniel earned her B.A. degree from the College of the Atlantic, her Master of Environmental Studies from Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, and her J.D. degree from Harvard Law School.
SHANNON MERRILL is a managing attorney with Bendett & McHugh PC, in Portland, Maine, practicing in the areas of real estate, foreclosure and title law. Ms. Merrill is admitted to practice in Maine and before the U.S. District Court, District of Maine. She is a member of the Maine State Bar Association (Real Estate Section) and the Maine Association of Mortgage Professionals. Ms. Merrill received her B.A. degree from George Washington University and earned her J.D. degree from University of Maine School of Law.
