AARON S. EVENCHIK is a partner with Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP, where he focuses his practice on construction and real estate law, where he performs both transactional and litigation work. His cross practice enables him to resolve disputes creatively and efficiently by understanding the underling goals of the original deal and drafting transactional documents to avoid problems and disputes. Mr. Evenchik's degree in civil engineering coupled with a half-dozen years in-house with a construction company, allows him to understand construction and real estate clients' business needs, operational limitations, and goals. Dubbed "zealous" and "creative" by opposing counsel, he advocates for and has enabled clients of all sizes to close on properties, deals, and leases - small and large - to grow their businesses. Mr. Evenchik has significant first chair experience in construction, real estate, zoning, and contract disputes as well as in asserting lien and bond claims, defending and prosecuting claims for and against contractors and subcontractors, as well as significant zoning litigation experience. He is admitted to practice in Ohio, and before the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio, Southern District of Ohio, and District of Colorado. Mr. Evenchik earned his B.S. degree in civil engineering from The Ohio State University and his J.D. degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
MATTHEW K. GRASHOFF is an attorney at Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP, where he focuses his practice on construction law and commercial litigation, and has experience in the areas of insurance coverage and appellate practice. He manages cases at all stages of the construction process, from bid disputes through project correspondence, scope disputes, change order disputes, alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, and lien and bond claims. Mr. Grashoff represents clients through all stages of litigation by taking and defending depositions, drafting and responding to dispositive motions, participating in jury trials, and obtaining successful results on appeal, as well as participating in all aspects of the arbitration process. He served as counsel to the Appellate Rules Committee of the Ohio Supreme Court Commission on the Rules of Practice and Procedure from 2015 to 2019. Mr. Grashoff is admitted to practice before U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio and the state of Ohio. He earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Allegheny College and his J.D. degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
CHRISTINA T. HASSEL is a partner in the law firm of Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP, where her practice is focused mainly on commercial litigation, including both individual and class action disputes regarding contracts, business torts, fraud, consumer protection defense, unfair and deceptive trade practices, ADA, and intellectual property, as well as appellate litigation. In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Hassel has extensive experience negotiating complex commercial agreements in areas including IT, real estate leasing, intellectual property, licensing, marketing, and human resources. She has been recognized as a Rising Star by Ohio Super Lawyers for 2014, 2015 and 2018. Ms. Hassel earned her B.S.B.A. degree, cum laude, from The Ohio State University, Max M. Fisher College of Business; and her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from The Ohio State University, Michael E. Moritz College of Law, where she was managing editor of the Ohio State Law Journal. She is admitted to practice in Ohio and Illinois.
SONJA C. RICE is of counsel with Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP in Cleveland, Ohio, where she is a member of the construction law practice group and co-chair of the firm's alternative energy and emerging technologies group. Her practice focuses on the development and negotiation of a wide variety of commercial contracts, including master services agreements, supply chain and manufacturing agreements, professional services contracts, intellectual property development and licensing agreements, energy savings performance contracts, and business process outsourcing agreements, with a particular emphasis on facilities management and real estate services. Ms. Rice also has significant experience in the development and negotiation of construction contracts at all levels and the resolution of construction-related disputes. She is a frequent speaker on a variety of topics, including contract terms and conditions, construction contract negotiation, claims avoidance, and risk mitigation. Ms. Rice has also been a professor of appellate practice at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She received her B.A. degree from Oberlin College and her J.D. degree, with honors, from Case Western Reserve University's School of Law.
CHRISTOPHER W. ST. MARIE is a partner with Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP, where he focuses his practice on business litigation, complex commercial disputes, and construction law. He is experienced in counseling clients on a wide variety of disputes, including breach of contract, business tort and negligence claims, insurance coverage issues, real estate and construction litigation, patent infringement, franchise disputes, and claims for the return of stolen or illegally exported art. Mr. St. Marie is fully involved in all aspects of case development and trial preparation, arguing motions, engaging in mediation, and taking and defending depositions in state and federal proceedings, with extensive experience drafting briefs, pleadings, discovery, and legal memoranda. He is admitted to practice in Ohio. Mr. St. Marie is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. He earned his B.A. degree from John Carroll University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, Cleveland State University.
GREGORY A. THOMPSON is an attorney in Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP's litigation group with a practice focused in complex commercial and construction litigation. He has first-chair experience handling non-compete disputes; shareholder, fiduciary and business tort litigation; and contract disputes. Mr. Thompson is often called upon to obtain emergency injunctive relief, such as enforcement of time-sensitive noncompete and nonsolicitation agreements. In the construction arena, he has experience managing breach of contract claims, construction defect disputes, claims for additional costs, schedule impact claims, and pre-litigation claims management to mitigate risk. For the past four years, Mr. Thompson has served as an instructor at The Akron University School of Law's Summer Trial Academy - a testament to his strength in the courtroom. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and the state of Ohio. Mr. Thompson is a member of Ohio State Bar Association, Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and American Bar Association. Mr. Thompson earned his B.B.A. degree from Ohio University and his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from The University of Akron School of Law.
