She has two decades of construction law experience, where she represents contractors, suppliers, owners, design professionals, construction managers and sureties in public and private real estate and construction disputes. Ms. Colon is board certified in construction law by The Florida Bar. She is certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as a circuit mediator and is an arbitration with the American Arbitration Association. She is general counsel of the National Association of Minority Contractors and sits on the executive committee. Ms. Colon earned her B.A. degree from the University of Miami and her J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law.
