JEFFREY A. BRAUER is a partner in the Cleveland Office of Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP. Mr. Brauer focuses his practice on litigation, construction law, and creditors' rights matters. He regularly handles complex financial, engineering, and technical disputes in state and federal trial courts and arbitrations. Mr. Brauer is experienced in addressing potential claims from development through discovery, mediation, trial, and appeal. He has represented owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and other construction professionals on construction matters for his entire career. Mr. Brauer frequently represents lenders, non-traditional lenders, secured creditors, general creditors, equipment lessors, and debtors in various proceedings, including bankruptcy, receiverships, commercial foreclosures, and collections. He received his B.S. degree from Northwestern University and his J.D. degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law. Mr. Brauer is a member of the American Arbitration Association, Roster of Arbitrators and Construction Panel; the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, arbitrator and mediator; the American Bar Association; the Ohio State Bar Association; the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association; the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers; and the Ohio State Bar Foundation, life fellow.
AARON S. EVENCHIK is a partner with Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP, where he focuses his practice on construction and real estate law, where he performs both transactional and litigation work. His cross practice enables him to resolve disputes creatively and efficiently by understanding the underling goals of the original deal and drafting transactional documents to avoid problems and disputes. Mr. Evenchik's degree in civil engineering coupled with a half-dozen years in-house with a construction company, allows him to understand construction and real estate clients' business needs, operational limitations, and goals. Dubbed "zealous" and "creative" by opposing counsel, he advocates for and has enabled clients of all sizes to close on properties, deals, and leases - small and large - to grow their businesses. Mr. Evenchik has significant first chair experience in construction, real estate, zoning, and contract disputes, as well as in asserting lien and bond claims, defending and prosecuting claims for and against contractors and subcontractors, as well as significant zoning litigation experience. He is admitted to practice in Ohio, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio, Southern District of Ohio, and District of Colorado. Mr. Evenchik earned his B.S. degree, in civil engineering, from The Ohio State University and his J.D. degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
MATTHEW K. GRASHOFF is an attorney at Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP, where he focuses his practice on construction law and commercial litigation and has experience in the areas of insurance coverage and appellate practice. He manages cases at all stages of the construction process, from bid disputes through project correspondence, scope disputes, change order disputes, alternative-dispute-resolution mechanisms, and lien and bond claims. Mr. Grashoff represents clients through all stages of litigation by taking and defending depositions, drafting and responding to dispositive motions, participating in jury trials, and obtaining successful results on appeal, as well as participating in all aspects of the arbitration process. He served as counsel to the Appellate Rules Committee of the Ohio Supreme Court Commission on the Rules of Practice and Procedure from 2015 to 2019. Mr. Grashoff is admitted to practice before U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio and the state of Ohio. He earned his B.A. degree, cum laude, from Allegheny College and his J.D. degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
ROB R. REMINGTON is a partner, founder and chair of the construction law practice group in the Cleveland Office of Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP. Mr. Remington maintains a national legal practice encompassing a broad range of business disputes with a focus on complex commercial, construction and real estate litigation. He represents contractors, owners, lenders, material suppliers, design professionals and sureties in a wide variety of construction-related matters. Mr. Remington has significant experience in all aspects of construction law, including construction claim defense, management and avoidance, geotechnical issues, construction defects, contracts, labor issues, competitive bid compliance and protests, guaranty, payment and performance bond issues, mechanics' liens and attested accounts, and alternative dispute resolution. He received his B.S. degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology and his J.D. degree from Cleveland Marshall College of Law. Mr. Remington is a member of the American Arbitration Association; the American Bar Association; the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association; the District of Columbia Bar Association; the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation, neutral; the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution; the National Building Association, the Ohio State Building Association; and the American Bar Foundation, fellow.
SONJA C. RICE is of counsel with Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP in Cleveland, Ohio, where she is a member of the construction law practice group and co-chair of the firm's alternative energy and emerging technologies group. Her practice focuses on commercial transactions and the development and negotiation of a wide variety of commercial contracts, including master services agreements, supply chain and manufacturing agreements, professional services contracts, intellectual property development and licensing agreements, energy savings performance contracts, and facilities management and real estate service outsourcing agreements. Ms. Rice also has significant experience in the development and negotiation of construction contracts at all levels and the resolution of construction-related disputes. She is a frequent speaker on a variety of topics, including contract terms and conditions, construction contract negotiation, claims avoidance, and risk mitigation. Ms. Rice has also been a professor of appellate practice at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She received her B.A. degree from Oberlin College and her J.D. degree, with honors, from Case Western Reserve University's School of Law. Ms. Rice serves on the Board of Trustees of the Asian American Bar Association of Ohio and is a member of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
TARA J. ROSE is an attorney in the Cleveland Office of Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP. Ms. Rose assists clients with real estate transaction work, leasing, acquisition and disposition, construction contracts, easements, and real estate and construction litigation, including construction defects, tax appeals, land use and zoning, and breach of purchase/sales agreements. She received her B.A. degree from the University of Akron and her J.D. degree from Florida International University College of Law. Ms. Rose is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC).
JEFFREY S. ROUSH is the director of construction services at Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP. He works with the firm's attorneys and clients to implement best construction management practices and risk management measures that elevate our client service and outcomes. With more than 35 years of experience in the construction management industry, Mr. Roush has served in senior-level construction and project management positions on numerous projects for various hospitals, education departments, agencies and private sector companies. He has experience overseeing project delivery through the development, programming, budgeting, design, bidding, pre-construction, construction and activation phases. Prior to joining Hahn Loeser, Mr. Roush served as the director of construction at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Before serving in that role, he led the construction management, general contracting, interiors, carpentry and special projects group at Marous Brothers Construction. His background includes 25 years as a project controls, scheduling, and claims consultant on numerous complex construction projects. He received his B.S degree, cum laude, from Bowling Green State University.
CHAD J. VAN ARNAM is senior project manager at Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP. Mr. Van Arnam has more than 17 years of experience working collaboratively to deliver well-coordinated and complex projects in commercial markets. As senior project manager for Hahn Loeser, he partners with the firm's attorneys and clients to execute construction project management and risk management procedures. Mr. Van Arnam has experience overseeing projects from the pre-planning phase of budgeting, bidding, and resource planning, through the construction and turnover phase. He has developed, updated and managed detailed project requirements and control documents, including bids, schedules, budgets, project meeting agendas and minutes, essential tracking logs, and presentation material. Mr. Van Arnam received his Bachelor of Construction Engineering Technology from the University of Akron.
