STEPHEN J. CONOVER is a partner with Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey LLP, in Stamford, Connecticut. Mr. Conover was admitted to practice in Connecticut in 1982, and since his admission has maintained an active trial practice representing clients in disputes in Connecticut's state and federal courts and in arbitration and administrative hearings before boards, committees, and commissions throughout the state. He regularly represents lawyers, law firms and legal departments in defense of grievance complaints filed with Connecticut's Statewide Grievance Committee. He advises local and national law firms on malpractice prevention and risk management, and counsels clients on sensitive ethics, professional responsibility and business matters. In 2007, Mr. Conover completed 11 years of service as a court-appointed grievance counsel involved with the state's lawyer disciplinary/grievance process in administrative and judicial proceedings. Since then, he regularly defends lawyers facing sanctions from grievance complaints. In addition, Mr Conover provides guidance to lawyers and law firms in their management of partnership agreements, lateral hiring, mergers, dissolutions, licensing, and ethics compliance. From 2012 to 2016 Mr. Conover served by appointment as vice chair of Connecticut’s Judicial Selection Commission which evaluates, investigates and recommends qualified candidates for nomination as judges for the Superior Court, the Appellate Court and the Supreme Court, and evaluates incumbent judges for reappointment. Mr. Conover is an elected member of the Connecticut Bar Association's Board of Governors, and a member of the Professional Ethics Committee, Professional Discipline Committee, and the Standing Committee on Professionalism. He is an active member of the National Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers. He is a frequent speaker for the Fairfield County Bar Association, the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association, and the Connecticut Bar Association on the topics of professionalism, ethics, grievance defense and lawyer discipline. He was selected to the Connecticut Super Lawyers list from 2011 through 2016 in the area of professional liability defense. Mr. Conover earned his B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. degree from St. John's University School of Law.
JEFFREY M. DONOFRIO is managing partner in the North Haven law firm of Ciulla & Donofrio, LLP, where he practices in the areas of construction law, commercial litigation and municipal law. Mr. Donofrio has spoken at seminars sponsored by the New Haven County Bar Association, the Bank Compliance Association of Connecticut, the Connecticut Bar Association, and National Business Institute on general commercial litigation, construction law and legal technology topics. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Litigation Section, Forum on the Construction Industry and Construction Litigation Committee), the Connecticut Bar Association (Litigation and Commercial Law sections) and the New Haven County Bar Association. Mr. Donofrio earned his B.A. degree from Boston College and his J.D. degree from Catholic University of America.
RICHARD C. ROBINSON is an attorney with the Hartford law firm of Pullman & Comley LLC, where he practices in the area of business litigation including the litigation of construction and employment disputes. Mr. Robinson heads the firm’s construction law and litigation section and has resolved hundreds of business litigation cases, both through trial and settlement. He is a frequent speaker at construction law seminars and publishes in the field. Mr. Robinson is a James W. Cooper fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation. He is a member of the Hartford County, Connecticut and American (member, Labor Law and Litigation sections and Forum Committee on the Construction Industry) bar associations. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. degree, with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law. Mr. Robinson has been recognized in Super Lawyers for business litigation and in Best Lawyers for construction litigation.
H. SCOTT WILLIAMS is an attorney in the Trumbull office of Saxe Doernberger & Vita, P.C., where he focuses on policyholder coverage. Mr. Williams has worked closely with both corporate and individual policyholders to resolve insurance claims on their behalf. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut, as well as the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut. Mr. Williams is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, Insurance Law Section. He earned his B.A. degree from Loyola College, followed by earning his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law.
