GEOFFREY A. BRYCE is a founding member and managing member of Bryce Downey & Lenkov LLC, in Chicago, Illinois. Under Mr. Bryce’s leadership the firm has grown from two attorneys to 39 attorneys in 18 years. Mr. Bryce concentrates his practice in commercial and construction litigation and business transactions. He typically represents developers, owners, facility management companies, architects, general contractors, subcontractors, engineers and material suppliers. His litigation practice includes, but is not limited to, product liability, insurance coverage, personal injury, property damage, real estate, mechanics' liens, bankruptcy, landowner contractor disputes, annexation, condemnation, zoning, scope of work disputes, breach of contract, extra work compensation, restrictive covenants, construction defects, architectural/engineering malpractice, breach of surety agreements, employer defense and delay claims. His transactional work includes the conceptual business framework for the transaction, the closing strategy, terms and conditions and negotiation of the final contract. He also defends manufacturers of products in toxic tort cases and other product liability cases. He has handled coverage disputes arising out of construction/development projects and many other coverage disputes, such as environmental, asbestos, silicosis and additional insured disputes. Mr. Bryce is a frequent author and speaker on his areas of practice and is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Institute of Architects, the ISBA Construction Law Section Council, the Society of Illinois Construction Attorneys (Steering Committee and treasurer), Professional Liability Defense Federation and many others. Mr. Bryce received his B.A. degree from the University of Toledo, his M.S. degree from DePaul University and his J.D. degree from John Marshall Law School.
