GEOFFREY A. BRYCE is a founding member and managing member of Bryce Downey & Lenkov LLC, in Chicago, Illinois. Under Mr. Bryce’s leadership the firm has grown from two attorneys to 39 attorneys in 18 years. Mr. Bryce concentrates his practice in commercial and construction litigation and business transactions. He typically represents developers, owners, facility management companies, architects, general contractors, subcontractors, engineers and material suppliers. His litigation practice includes, but is not limited to, product liability, insurance coverage, personal injury, property damage, real estate, mechanics liens, bankruptcy, landowner contractor disputes, annexation, condemnation, zoning, scope of work disputes, breach of contract, extra work compensation, restrictive covenant, construction defect, architectural/engineering malpractice, breach of surety agreement, employer defense and delay claims. His transactional work includes the conceptual business framework for the transaction, the closing strategy, terms and conditions, and negotiation of the final contract. He also defends manufactures of products in toxic tort cases and other product liability cases. He has handled coverage disputes arising out of construction/development projects and many other coverage disputes, such as environmental, asbestos, silicosis and additional insured disputes. Mr. Bryce is a frequent author and speaker on his areas of practice and is a member of the American Bar Association, American Institute of Architects, ISBA Construction Law Section Council, Society of Illinois Construction Attorneys-Steering Committee and treasurer, Professional Liability Defense Federation and many others. Mr. Bryce received his B.A. degree from University of Toledo, M.S. degree from DePaul University and J.D. degree from John Marshall Law School.
JEANNE M. HOFFMANN is a capital member of Bryce Downey & Lenkov LLC, in Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Hoffmann concentrates her practice in intellectual property and business litigation and transactions. She handles all facets of business and intellectual property litigation and has extensive experience handling diverse matters in both the state and federal courts. Ms. Hoffmann has represented clients in protecting their intellectual property by providing clearance opinions for trademark filings, preparing copyright and trademark applications, and prosecuting matters in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Her transactional work includes negotiating and drafting licenses, sales and marketing agreements, and agreements for the purchase and sale of businesses and assets. Ms. Hoffmann is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and received her B.A. degree from the University of Illinois and her J.D. degree from DePaul University College of Law.
SAMUEL H. LEVINE is of counsel with Bryce Downey & Lenkov LLC, in Chicago. Mr. Levine’s practice covers a broad spectrum of activities in the area of real estate litigation, including construction disputes, mechanics liens and bond claims, commercial mortgage foreclosures and other proceedings to enforce creditors’ rights, real estate title disputes and bankruptcy matters. He has extensive experience in mechanics’ liens enforcement and proceedings, payment and performance bond enforcement proceedings and construction defect disputes. Mr. Levine has written and spoken extensively on a variety of tropics relating to construction law, mortgage foreclosure law, bankruptcy and other real estate topics. He is arbitrator of mechanics’ lien cases as part of the Cook County, Illinois mechanics’ liens pilot arbitration program. Mr. Levin is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (fellow and immediate past chair of its Bankruptcy and Creditor’s Rights Committee), Chicago Bar Association (Mechanics Liens and Construction Subcommittee, member and past chair), Chicago Mortgage Attorneys Association (past president), DuPage County Real Estate Law Committee (past chair), Illinois Bar Association (Construction Law, Section Counsel, member & past chair) and Society of Illinois Construction Attorneys (member & legislative chair). Mr. Levine received his B.A. degree from Washington University and his J.D. degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
TINA M. PARIES is an income member with Bryce Downey & Lenkov LLC, where she focuses her practice on all aspects of construction and commercial litigation. She represents a wide variety of clients, including owners, developers, architects, engineers, general contractors and subcontractors in contract disputes, mechanics lien claims, construction defect claims, business torts, and insurance coverage. Ms. Paries' litigation responsibilities include developing strategies, drafting coverage opinions, appellate briefs, pleadings, motions and supporting memoranda; arguing motions; propounding and responding to fact and expert discovery; conducting settlement negotiations; and preparing for and attending trials, arbitrations, evidentiary hearings and mediations. She is licensed to practice in Illinois and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Illinois. Ms. Paries is a member of the Federal Trial Bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the Federation of Women Contractors, the Association of Trial Lawyers of American, the construction forum and construction and insurance litigation committees of the American Bar Association, and the mechanics lien and insurance committees of the Chicago Bar Association.
