MEREDITH G. ASHLEY is an attorney in the workers’ compensation defense practice based in Wiedner & McAuliffe’s Kansas City office. She focuses her practice on workers’ compensation and insurance defense matters. Ms. Ashley represents insurance carriers and employers in disputes involving injured workers for a variety of industries, including manufacturing, retail, trucking, and food service. She is affiliated with the Alliance of Women in Workers’ Compensation, as well as The Missouri Bar, and the Iowa State and Nebraska State bar associations. She earned her B.A. degree cum laude, from the University of Tulsa, followed by her J.D. degree from The University of Iowa College of Law.
GERALD LEE CROSS JR. is the founder and managing attorney with Cross Law Firm, LLC. He focuses his practice on various aspects of civil litigation. Mr. Cross is a member of the Johnson County Bar Association, the Kansas Association for Justice, the Missouri Association of Trial Lawyers, and the American Association for Justice; as well as the Kansas, Kansas City Metropolitan and American bar associations; and The Missouri Bar. He received his B.A. degree from the University of Kansas and his J.D. degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.
CHRISTOPHER H. LOGAN is an attorney and partner with Logan Logan & Watson, L.C., located in Prairie Village, Kansas. His primary practice areas include civil litigation, non-profit and business law, and estate planning. Mr. Logan has tried cases resulting in defense verdicts in state courts in Missouri and Kansas as well as the federal court. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Kansas Bar Association, The Missouri Bar, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, and the Johnson County Bar Association. In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Logan offers his non-profit and business law clients guidance on corporate structuring and governance, maintenance of nonprofit status, contract drafting and review, and estate planning services. He earned his B.A. degree from Indiana University and his J.D. degree from the American University Washington College of Law.
ERIC S. PLAYTER is an attorney with Playter Trial Lawyers, where he practices in all areas of civil litigation, with a focus on serious personal injury, wrongful death and employment discrimination. Mr. Playter earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Following law school, he began working at a large downtown Kansas City defense firm where he honed his talents and skills representing individuals, businesses and insurance companies in various matters, including contract disputes, professional negligence, employment discrimination, defamation, fraud, negligent misrepresentation, bad faith, and other liability claims. Mr. Playter’s practice is now dedicated almost exclusively to representing individuals who have been injured or experienced other catastrophic loss and damage as a result of others’ negligence. He is a member of The Missouri Bar and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association.
JAMES R. WYRSCH is president and shareholder of Wyrsch Hobbs & Mirakian, P.C. Mr. Wyrsch specializes in white collar crime and complex civil litigation matters. He has litigated cases both at the trial and appellate level throughout the United States. Mr. Wyrsch has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards throughout his extensive career. He is an adjunct professor, teaching a criminal trial techniques course at University of Missouri-Kansas City Law School. Mr. Wyrsch has lectured on various topics (1979-present), including discovery in criminal cases, updates on case law, grand jury representation, Missouri's wiretap law, and defenses under the new Missouri Criminal Code for the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Mr. Wyrsch received his B.A. degree from Notre Dame, his J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center, and his LL.M. degree in trial practice from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.
