KEVIN J. BABB is the principal of the Law Office of Kevin J. Babb in Edwardsville, Illinois. Since 1987, Mr. Babb has practiced in the areas of personal injury defense, insurance coverage litigation and commercial litigation. He has previously lectured on uninsured and underinsured motorist law for National Business Institute. Mr. Babb has 25 years of practice in insurance coverage defense. He is a member of the Madison County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association (past member, Insurance Law Section) and the Illinois Association of Defense Council (past member, Insurance Law Section). Mr. Babb earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Illinois.
JAN I. BERLAGE is a partner with Gohn Hankey & Berlage LLP. His practice focuses on general business litigation, ranging from commercial disputes to bankruptcy to intellectual property. Mr. Berlage has extensive experience in trials, arbitrations, mediations, and administrative hearings, including arguments before the Maryland Court of Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third and Fourth circuits. He has secured major jury verdicts and large settlements for both businesses and individuals as well as successfully defended against multi-million dollar claims in both state and federal court. Prior to private practice, Mr. Berlage served as law clerk to the Honorable E. Stephen Derby, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland. He has taught pretrial litigation practice at the University of Maryland School of Law, served on the Board of Governors for the Maryland State Bar Association, and the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, Maryland State Action Committee. Mr. Berlage is a fellow of both the American and Maryland State bar foundations, presents regularly at CLE courses, and has been the chair of numerous committees at both the national and state level. He earned his B.A. degree, with honors and Phi Beta Kappa, from Wesleyan University and his J.D. degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as executive editor of The Journal of Law & Politics.
RORY ZAMANSKY is a partner with the law firm of Zelle LLP, at the Minneapolis office. He is a commercial litigator who has vigorously represented his clients in state and federal courts throughout the United States. Mr. Zamansky's practice focuses on complex litigation. In particular, he has extensive experience defending financial services firms in challenging, high-stakes lawsuits involving multi-million dollar claims of negligence, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and violations of state and federal statuses. He has represented broker-dealers and registered representatives from claims of unsuitability, inadequate supervision, and alleged violations of state and federal securities laws. Mr. Zamansky also serves as an arbitrator for FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. In addition to the financial services arena, he has substantial experience in the areas of insurance, reinsurance, employment matters and commercial contract disputes. Mr. Zamansky has successfully represented clients in declaratory judgment actions and defended against charges brought by the EEOC. Following the terrorist attack on 9/11, Mr. Zamansky represented a large insurance client in connection with several large commercial property insurance claims. His personal affiliations include - but are not limited to - the Hennepin County Bar Association and the Minnesota State Bar Association. Mr. Zamansky obtained his B.A. degree at Cornell University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, at the Boston College Law School.
