JOHN R. NELSON is a member of Foster Garvey, P.C., in Spokane, Washington, where his practice is focused on complex commercial litigation. Mr. Nelson is a regular lecturer before the Washington State Bar Association and other professional groups on litigation and trial advocacy. He is a past chair of the Executive Committee of the Washington State Bar Association's Litigation Section and is a former president of the Eastern District of Washington’s Federal Bar Association. Mr. Nelson has served on the Editorial Board of the Washington Civil Procedure Deskbook, and was editor in chief of the Washington Trial and Evidence Manual in 2004. He has been named to the U.S. News and World Reports Best Lawyers in America for commercial litigation, employment litigation and environmental litigation. Mr. Nelson earned his B.S. degree from Utah State University, his M.A. degree from the University of Washington, and his J.D. degree from the University of Utah.
