DANIEL R. SHULMAN is a principal in the law firm of Gray Plant Mooty, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is a trial lawyer, who has been trying cases since 1970. He has been chief counsel in antitrust litigation involving major industries in a variety of cases ranging from data storage, media, food, oil and gasoline, airlines, consumer electronics, medical electronics, health care, thoroughbred horses, and many other areas. Mr. Shulman has also been counsel in trademark and patent infringement actions, and has an active pro bono civil rights practice. He continues to write and lecture extensively. Mr. Shulman has been the chair of the Sedona Conference antitrust law program every year since its inception in 1998. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers; the International Academy of Trial Lawyers; the Litigation Counsel of America, Trial Lawyer Honorary Society; and the Nation’s Top One Percent, National Association of Distinguished Counsel. JAMES M. SUSAG is a shareholder with Larkin Hoffman Daly & Lindgren Ltd., in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Since 1995, his commercial and real estate litigation trial practice has focused on franchise; dealer and contract disputes; and real estate, construction, and land use. He has extensive first chair litigation experience representing clients in numerous jury and court trials, domestic and international arbitrations, administrative proceedings, and appeals. Mr. Susag is a member of the Minnesota State, Hennepin County, and Ramsey County bar associations; the American Bar Association's Forum on Franchising; and the International Franchise Association. He is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Minnesota and Wisconsin, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th, 4th, and 8th circuits. Mr. Susag is a frequent writer, public speaker, and panelist. He has been named a Super Lawyer from 2002 - present, a Best Lawyer in America and a Best Lawyer in Minnesota by Minnesota Monthly Magazine, and one of the Very Best U.S. Attorneys in Franchising and a Franchise Legal Eagle by Franchise Times. Mr. Susag earned his B.A. degree, summa cum laude, from the University of St. Thomas and his J.D. degree, summa cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law.
JAMES K. THEISEN is an attorney in the Rockford office of Hupy and Abraham. With more than a decade of experience, he handles personal injury claims. Mr. Theisen earned his J.D. degree from Southern Illinois University School of Law, where he received numerous awards and scholarships, including the Phi Delta Phi Award for outstanding achievement in legal ethics and the Academic Achievement Scholarship. He also served as a student ambassador for Southern Illinois University School of Law and participated in William & Mary School of Law’s summer program in Madrid, Spain. Mr. Theisen is licensed to practice in Illinois’ state and federal courts, as well as the state of Missouri. He also is a member of the Winnebago County and the Illinois State bar associations.
