STEPHEN E. ALLOY, JD, MBA, CLU, ChFC, MSFS, is an advanced markets specialist with Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company, with 35 years of experience in the legal and insurance industries. His primary focus areas are life insurance planning for business owners, business succession planning, business entity planning, estate tax planning, non-tax aspects of estate planning, and wealth building outside the business. Mr. Alloy practiced law in Chicago for 20 years, focusing in the areas of estate planning, business succession and real estate. In 2000, he combined his law practice with an insurance and financial services practice and for several years conducted public seminars on estate and financial planning. Now, as an advanced markets specialist with Mutual of Omaha, he is able to bring his legal background into the insurance agency, carving out an expertise in advanced markets. Mr. Alloy has taught many continuing education courses for agents as well as advanced concept, product and sales training. He has earned the following academic credentials: B.A. degree in English/Creative Writing from the University of Iowa; J.D. degree from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law; M.B.A. degree from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University; and M.S. degree in Financial Services (MSFS) from The American College. Additionally, he holds the CLU and ChFC designations from The American College. He is insurance licensed (life, health and P&C) and also holds the following FINRA licenses: Series 7, Series 63, Series 65 and Series 26. BRANDON DICKERSON is a partner with Likes Meyerson Hatch LLC, and has a broad transactional practice in the areas of corporate and securities transactions, health care and nonprofit law. In the nonprofit realm, Mr. Dickerson has assisted clients with a vast array of issues, including applications for tax exemptions, formation and dissolution, private inurement and excess benefit issues, gift management, charitable gaming and a variety of contract matters. He serves as outside general counsel to local and national nonprofit organizations, including community hospitals, advising board members and executives on general corporate governance, fiduciary duties, conflicts of interest, private benefit/inurement and excess benefit issues, lobbying activities, tax compliance and executive compensation. Mr. Dickerson is admitted to practice law in Nebraska and Iowa. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Utah and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Creighton University School of Law.
BRIAN L. HARR is a member of Koley Jessen P.C., L.L.O., in the M&A/securities practice group. His practice includes the representation of both public and private companies in the sale and purchase of companies. Mr. Harr has extensive experience in the structuring of transactions to maximize the value of the transaction for his clients. During the negotiations of a transaction, he works closely with his clients to identify potential issues, explain the consequences of such issues, and try to find an acceptable resolution to such issues. Once a transaction closes, Mr. Harr continues to work with his clients to see that all post-closing covenants are satisfied, and if there are any other post-closing issues, they are resolved in a satisfactory manner. Mr. Harr also has extensive acquisition experience. He is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association and Omaha Bar Association. Mr. Harr earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Notre Dame.
JEFFREY S. MAKOVICKA is a partner with the Omaha office of Kutak Rock LLP. He concentrates on banking matters and represents banking and other financial institutions and their boards of directors on the strategic, policy, and regulatory aspects of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, establishing subsidiaries (operating or otherwise), capital raises, restructuring transactions and investments by and in the banking organizations. Mr. Makovicka is a fellow of the Nebraska State Bar Foundation, and a member of the Omaha and Lincoln bar associations. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Nebraska and his J.D. degree from Southwestern Law School.
