JASON F. BARNES is in private practice with The Law Offices of Jason F. Barnes, P.C. (a.d.b.a. The Adoption Law Firm) and is a Utah court rostered mediator. His practice is highly focused in adoption and family law. Mr. Barnes previously served as the president of the Utah Adoption Council and is a current member of that council. He has testified before Utah House and Senate Judiciary committees regarding proposed legislation affecting adoption laws; and has represented clients in all types of adoption matters and cases, including litigation in contested adoption matters. Mr. Barnes regularly advises attorneys, adoptive parents, and birth parents regarding their rights and adoption practice and procedure. He earned his B.S. degree from the University of Utah and his J.D. degree from the University of Wyoming College of Law.
LARRY S. JENKINS is a shareholder with Kirton McConkie, PC. He manages the firm’s adoption practice, and also practices in the areas of litigation, appellate, and natural resources, municipal, and energy. Mr. Jenkins is admitted to practice in Utah; and before the U.S. Supreme Court; the U.S. Court of Appeals, 10th Circuit; and the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys and is a past member of its Board of Trustees and is currently cochair of the Academy’s ICWA committee, He is a past recipient of the Professional Excellence Award from the Utah Adoption Council and the Angel in Adoption Award from the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute. Mr. Jenkins earned his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Brigham Young University, J. Rueben Clark Law School.
LANCE D. RICH is a shareholder with Kirton McConkie, PC. He practices in the areas of adoption, adoption court proceedings, employment and labor, and litigation. Mr. Rich is a member of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys and is a member and former president of the Utah Adoption Council. He is a member of the Utah State Bar. Mr. Rich earned his B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Utah and his J.D. degree from the University of Michigan Law School.
