MONICA LaPOLT was appointed as an Administrative Law Judge in 2008, assigned to the Social Security Administration’s, Office of Hearing Operations, Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was appointed to her ALJ position while she was working as a Federal Reviewing Official as part of the Region 1 pilot program. In May 2010, Judge LaPolt was appointed as the Hearing Office Chief ALJ for the Indianapolis, Indiana OHO. She served in that position through June 2019 and is currently continues as an ALJ in the Indianapolis office. As a participant in the ALJ Leadership Development Program, she has acted as the Regional Chief Administrative Law Judge in New York, Region 2, HOCALJ in St. Louis, Missouri and HOCALJ in Cincinnati, Ohio. Judge LaPolt earned her J.D. degree, cum laude, from Widener University School of Law - Delaware; and her BFA from Mason Gross School of Arts at Rutgers University.
DAVID SPUNZO is a managing attorney with Green & Greenberg in Providence. Mr. Spunzo practices exclusively in Social Security disability law. Prior to returning to law school, Mr. Spunzo spent five years as a certified teacher in various school districts. He is a member of the Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New York State bar associations. Mr. Spunzo received his B.A. degree and teacher’s certificate from Providence College and earned his J.D. degree from New England School of Law.
